That is an understatement. I love it! So awesome! *saves it to my computer*. It's only fitting that I'm currently listening to music from the voice actor of Edward.... *sighs happily*

Anyway, this is a little comic I made just for fun and because of my current obsession. Based on a true event at college. (but without the violence)

FYI, Vic is Edward Elric's american voice actor. I don't own any rights to his likeness, name, or voice or anything. (although I wish.... no I won't go there.)

I'm really pushing myself into uncharted territories here and will share. Plus there needs to be some non-FMA related material in as of late.

While reading Sheri S. Tepper's book The True Game (warning potential spoilers. The subcharacters Fatman and Dupies, although horrendously creepy and have a very minor role in the story, fascinated me enough to be inspired to draw them. Fatman will be, relatively, easy to draw and flesh out (no pun intended). The Dupies though, they will require quite a bit of study on how to do them. They are conjoined twins sharing the same lower body. Their body is, in essense, shaped like a Y. A worthy challenge!

Haha, I've tried drawing fat guys before. It really didn't come out right.... Anyways, I really find the detail to be interesting. The face is perfect (looks like someone from GTA), he's got man-titties (with fuggin' HUGE nipps...), but the arms are what I find wierd. They remind me of long curved tubes protruding from his torso. It might be because of only his upper torso and up are being shown, and not hs whole body (That was be quite the site to see...). Also, I would've thought a guy this fat would atleast be somewhat hairy. Still cool, though.

Also, what is that "behind" him? Did you have practice sketches and planned it all out before the actual sketch? Or did you just draw that several times until you were satisfied with the results?

Also, my computer died and now I'm using a different computer. The scanner is not hooked up to it so I'm unable to post anything as of yet. I still have been drawing stuff, though.

Yeah, I kinda BS'd on the arms since I was getting rather tired and was wanting to sleep. I'm going to hunt down more photo references and do more work on it. As for the sketchy thing in the background I was just doodling very rough sketches of his body with the Fatwagon (his means of transportation. a squeeky wheely egg cup shaped thing).

Haha, references... I bet you'd find fun pictures for that. Hm... I wonder what his lower body looks like. As it's been obviously shown, he has no shirt. Is he naked? Or did you just draw him like that to get a better grasp of a fat person's anatomy? If he is naked, would he be like Peter Griffon naked where his fat covers up his crotch?

Also, how you described his "Fatwagon", I would so want to ride in one of those....

Grandmaster_Skweeb 09-20-2006 03:37 PM

Well, the book really doesn't go into too much details about Fatman. One character, being a shapeshifter, says he cannot stand being in a shape without legs. So it is assumed that Fatman does indeed have no lower body, or at least legs. As for clothes, I'm just going on the assumption that there'd be little in the way of clothes for this character since...yeah...

hope this works...

edit: First attempt at making a lw face. I tried to pop it on so that people can just see it, regretfully it did not come through. If I ever want to harm this thread again, what is the correct way to simply paste an image on the board without going through hoops, please? Thank you.

Not exactly a sketch, but I wanted to show off my Hong Kong Phooey thingy:

No idea what you mean by 'lw face' and..yeah..Why is that picture in .dll format? Your best bet would be to make an image storage account on something like photobucket and uploading images as .jpg.

As for the picture. Anatomy, proportions, shape, etc. All the basics that should be learned and used...aren't from the looks of it. I'm not trying to sound like some artsy elitist bastard or anything like that.
