Ok, posting my lamia pic here. I know it's a little skewed, but I blame the scanner being out of viewable range on that. Anyway, I am still working with copic markers, and for this one I tried blending togeather the red on top with the orange that makes up the rest of her scales....I personally think I could use some more practice...

Ninja Business Card

This is what happens when you're up at 3 AM trying to fix your muther fuggin' internal clock! I might do similar ones for White Mage, Black Mage and the rest...dunno. Depends on the reaction to this, I suppose. Originally, the image was in pieces on the Japanese website, and covered in..well...japanese. It was also smeared around the outline on a single tone background because the ninja's body and the leaves and ball all blended with it, so I had to crop and fix that. I added the text, as well as the fire and background, all in MS Paint. |
Oh no! Critique mode is on!
Skweeb- Nice job on a fat man. He kind of looks like a sumo wrestler. Also, this fat wagon sounds entertaining.
Another One- I usually just use imageshack and use their links to put my pictures on here. As for the picture. The hair is pretty nifty looking. I like how you colored it. The bottom of the hair seems to flail out a little too much. As for a face's proportion, the eyes should fall at about half-way down the head, then the nose is at 1/4 and the mouth is at 1/8th. That always helps me when I try and draw faces, so hopefully that will help in the future. Keep it up! =D ElfLad- Very cool. Very "Order of the Stick"esque (which is what it's supposed to be, I'm betting. The things that bug me most about it is that even though Hong Kong Phooey is flying right-screen, his ears and sash-thing are flying right as well (if you make them fly to the left, it gives more of a perception of movement.) Anyway. It looks nice. ^^ Flarecobra-Pretty cool. ^^ I would just shorten the neck and smooth out some of the lines. There are some anatomy problems too (but when aren't there? My drawings always have that problem) The elbows should start at about the stomach area and the length of the fore-arm, if you were to bend it up, it should be able to touch your sholder, so that should help get it into proportion. ^^ Anyway. I like it! I like those colors. I may have to try copic markers sometime. =D RandomNinja- Cool! Good job cleaning up and changing the image. It looks like it was originally made that way, so you did a good job. And as for me, there can never be too much FMA art! I was sitting and waiting in between classes, and I really wanted to draw something, so I just started drawing and this is what came out. (tsk, Bad Celes, drawing hot springs scenes.) As for the coloring, I was messing around with different techiques this time. I do cell-type shading a lot and I wanted to practice some non-cell shading. Personally, my favorite part of the picture is Ed's left arm(the non-automail one). Normally I have all kinds of troubles drawings arms, but this one just happened. It made me happy. http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/3...ingsqo7.th.jpg |

And CJ, just so you know, you can't really buy copic markers at your local store...I've had to get most of mine mail-ordered (My first 12 were a gift) and they can get pretty pricy real quick. Plus there's three types. Caio, Sketch, and regular. I personally use the sketch types. |
Super Saiyan Goku
one of my favorite sketches... and yes, I know he is missing a hand. Its been completed since I scanned this... but I can't find my sketches and I've no access to a scanner anymore.

The goku sketch looks good, except for the fact the muscles on his left, our right, arm looks a little too large for his body, they don't have as much definition as the muscles Akira draws, which are like...made from steel. And the knuckles on the completed hand look like they could use some touching up.
But it's got potential. |
I call him Mulligan.
This is a watercolour sketch I did of my favoutite action figure!
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...r/Mulligan.jpg I find that if I'm having trouble getting parts of figures right, those little wooden manikins(sp) just won't cut it. It's often the finer details I need a reference for. I have found that good action figures make a better substitue; especially when they have articulated fingers and obvious muscles to model from. Well, in my case, a helmet and a shotgun. |
Thank you, all for the suggestions!
lw means light(bulb) warrior. I drew that in Flash MX, making sure that I did draw out the seven head to body, eye at midlevel. Maybe putting the hat on fried my understanding of it. Drawing with the mouse is very different to sketching with pencil and paper. It`s in nine different layers, because I was scared to ammend or edit what I popped on before, and with all the critique, will continue to practice for better results. Thanks again! |
