Edit: See below for updated version. Also removed since the in-prog image was kinda large.

Bored moments at work produced this the other night.

Demetrius, it's so action-packed! You have re-awakened me to the power of cross hatching! Must find markers...

Dangerskew, do you draw these from scratch, living models, or photographs? I'm hoping to gague how long I would have to spend toiling away to imitate this depth of detail. Also, if I've been horribly out-skilled by yet another member here.

And what is scratchboard? Surprised to say I've never heard of it.

Scratchboard is (at least the stuff I had) basically white paper with black ink all over it and you scratch the image into the ink (creating a white-on-black picture) It's very cool. I looove scratchboard.

Also, I looove Legend of Zelda (Twilight Princess specifically (don't worry, this isn't a spoiler really for TP, if it is in any way (other than maybe the hair) then I must be psychic, because I tried to kind of make him more of an original style of Ganondorf just doing what Ganon likes to do best: Lounge in his Laz-E-Boy Hyrule throne.)

I got my hands on a "how to draw" book with a nice section on muscles so I decided to try it out on Ganondorf here. Ah yeah, and he's SUPPOSED to be wearing leggings, but until he's colored, I guess it will just look like he's inches from flashing you.

"It's Ganon-o-clock!"

I draw from a photograph or picture thing. It takes me hours butmy one friend does it in about 1/2 hour.

Ooh, hey, I do know that scratchstuff! I didn't know it had a name.

Photos eh? Looks like it's back to making abusive use of the mimic ability for me then! Don't feel bad about your buddy being a sonic sketcher, you're not alone. My brain is a hi-quality but megatastically slow processor, so I take forever to do anything. A more exaggerated version might be a sloth with Stephen Hawking's brain. (Hmm, actually, he doesn't move much to begin with...)

Drawing realism that fast is unnatural anywho!

Demetrius 01-12-2007 11:35 PM

Oh so if anyone feels like coloring that drawing I'd appreciate it. I have no coloring skills :(.

Update on the Isra face.

It's..almost..frightening how quickly I've been learning Corel Painter just by dinking around. I fear photoshop will no longer be used for lineart and coloring. GASP!

CelesJessa 01-15-2007 08:09 PM

Skweeb - I really like the shade of red on his coat. It's a really nice color.

Aaand Ganondorf is FINALLY colored. Whew. AND I beat Twilight Princess yester day *glee* yaay.

Heeyy... is that Ganon's original big-ass sword from the E3 Zelda trailer? The one everybody dropped dead over, before Windwaker happened?

Ohboy ohboy that was such a cool fight scene!! The nostalgia (yes, twilight princess took that long) makes me all misty-eyed.
