I have an unfinished drawing I'd like to be critiqued. Just need to scan, upload, then post.

Doc ock rokc - Pretty cool. My only thing is his left hand is very very sketchy and I'm having a little bit of a hard time telling what he's doing, but it's supposed to be a quick sketch, so that's not really a big deal. Still cool, and I like the story behind it. ^^

Khael - I really like that glove for some reason. ^^ Also, this isn't really related, but I really like your signiture (on the picture) You have better handwriting than I do.

Romara - I really like that character design. The boots and the belts are flipping sweet.

Skit - Thanks. Just out of curiousity, what do you think the 'right colors' would be? I've been messing with warm tones, since it was mostly inspired by the 3rd season of Avatar, which is titled "Fire", but if anyone has other ideas of what might be better...

Just don't use too few colours. That's really the key. Simple cell-shading looks good for scenes when it's not completely dynamic, but with a big firey explosion scene, be sure to try some dynamic lighting and stuff for the colours. If the fire is all around this guy, the whole picture should be tinged orange and yellow and red, you know?

I hope I did this well.

Still trying to improve on my colors, also, playing with a new signiture thing, so it's not so... big. Hope you like it, Thanks for all of the advice everyone. ^^

 Quite good! I like the warm colourscheme, and the wind aspect turned out fantastic. I might push the lighting a little further, mostly out of curiosity.

Whee, someone likes my sig. My left-hand writing is as good as most people's crappy scrawl... wait, you mean people actually pay attention to that? Watch, now someone's gonna analyze my goodie handwriting and say I'm effeminate or something...

It was still worth a laugh.

I was thinking the same thing (I'm not good with big dramatic colors), but I went in and quickly did a rushed change on the picture.

Better? Worse?

I has no good handwriting Actually, I can if the planets are aligned or something. I don't know why, but occassionally my handwriting is much better.

That looks really good, CJ. Dramatic Lighting is always fun.

Khael! 08-09-2007 10:55 PM

WHOA

Now the fire looks ultra-glowy. Keep it keep it! It's 100% more win.

I failed that course. But failure aside, you inspired me! Here is a picture and poem I wrote with my left hand. I didn't take forever getting it right, but I think the slant of the laptop helped. Now my right hand is scared.

CelesJessa 08-09-2007 11:27 PM

That was a great poem Khael. And the girly Y vs the manly y? Girls are trained at a young age to make their letters more swoopy and fun.

*shrugs* I don't know.

And good, glad to know my quick dramatic lighting is better. Yaay!

Backstory: I was on the Internet playing around when I came upon a Cartoon pie slice. To me it looked like a face of a alligator. so I drew myself getting eaten by a slice of pie. one of my friends said it looks like a demons pie (she is obsessed with demons) so i put the caption below.
