This kid rocks

God, I love the IGDA, and the wonderful information they proved
"According to the Grand Rapids Metro, a 4-year-old boy in Sand Lake, MI was so intent on renting a videogame that he managed to leave the house during the night without waking his mother, then steer the family's Geo Prism down to the nearby video store, before discovering that it was closed. Police returned the boy to his home when they stopped the car, after noticing its erratic behavior on the road. The boy was apparently intending to rent a PlayStation driving game, which could account for his precocious performance at the wheel."

that kid rocks

Which just goes to show that video games can teach children anything.

Five bucks says that the kid will be on posters advocating the use of video games in school.

hey! i heard that too! lol! yeah it was on the news just yesterday morning
that is really wierd how he could do that. im going to be the anti everything fun asshole mom and say "ugh! he probably learned it from grand theft auto! blah blah blah im such a whore bag" - the ass hole moms who can't let anything with swears or Blood enter the minds of their kids.... association.

Things like this are why I would be a horrible parent. If I had a 4 year old sone who drove my car to the video store to rent a video game, and was then returned by the cops, I would react completely innapropriately. Upon seeing the officers with my son in my doorway, I would immediately begin laughing, at best I'd be able to muster a half hearted "go to your room" before I wet myself. After the story was explained, there'd be no way I could discipline the kid at all, that is seriously freaking ballsy! I would be dumbfounded and so proud that I'd probably go buy the kid the damn game as soon as possible. No negative enforcement, no consequences, nothing, just one dad rolling on the floor laughing then saying "good jopb son!"

The hell? I'm not sure I even understood the concepts of "video", "renting", or "steering" at four years old...

Not to mention even being able to reach the pedals. Is this even plausible? 4 years old? Opening the car door, putting the keys into the ignition, putting the car into drive, and stopping the car in a parking lot? There is no way a 4 year could do that.

Or maybe I'm just too skeptical.

It was in our newspaper here.

So you automatically believe everything that is in a newspaper? The newspaper where I live is full of errors everyday, and is the most liberal piece of print I've seen.

A pox on small details!

Fact or fiction, someone give this kid a medal. Or the PlayStation game.

Wow if he can learn all that from playing driving games. Then lets make some super four year old soldiers. We'll put them in front of the TV with copies of medal of honor/ battlefield/other 1st person shooters when they're four, then when they're eighteen we can send them to war without any special training.

Come on I mean if it works with this kid, think what another 12 years will do to him, he'll become the next great NASCAR racer or something as soon as he gets his liscense.
