Is KH a Final fantasy game?
 

Simple question, is KH a FF game? I dont think so. Its missing too many things from FF games to be concidered even close,

It looks like a Final Fantasy, smells like a Final Fantasy, but I don't think it is a Final Fantasy. Sure, it's got Cloud, Aeris, Yuffie, and a bunch of others from the games, but no FF ever repeated the same characters except for X-2. The whole hack-and-slash battle system is also not seen in any FF. The Square name just makes it another rpg.

No, and i'm very glad about that fact. Hopefully when KH2 comes out it still won't be a FF (which is IMO nothing but a perpetual rehash)

It's not named Final Fantasy. That should be the big giveaway.

Despite many elements of the FF games (spells, skills, characters even) it's still something very different than the FF games. In fact, it's almost becoming a franchise itself.

But I still think the concept sounds like a really bad fanfiction.

I disagree about the reason you're giving as to why it's not a FF, but not that it's it's own title. Why? Because there are games I've seen with FF tags that are not FFs by any stretch of the imagination, while others don't have it even though they probably should (Chrono Trigger could have been called Final Fantasy and gotten away with it easy). Kingdom Hearts, however, is not one of them. It's not a disney game eithor(*shudder*) but it is not a FF. It has very little in common with the other FFs, despite the fact that it has more FF references then an actual FF. Just look at the play system! In a FF it's all strategy, but here it's more hack slash and cast the occasional cure. In a FF it's all about "what's the truth about _____", but with KH it's "Yeah yeah yeah, I'm facing the darkness and saving worlds. Now tell me what I'm supposed to kill next."

the reason it looks like ff is cause that is what square does, there games are diffrent, but there is something there that looks very similer. also the art work. hehehe. the origanol was made before square merged with the much supirer enix wasnt it (i am a massive massive fan of Dragon warrior/quest the 3rd is still one of my faviorit games and better then any ff ever made, better then all of them multiplied by tha amount of tthem made.) so that may change some things

Though it has a disney cover, I like to think that it's a Final Fantasy game.

It has most of the criteria for a Final Fantasy game.

1) The end of the world(s).
2) A major villian with deepset emotional issues.
3) A hero that gathers members to him.
