"You seem to know what you are doing, could you make my rifle able to either shoot faster or make it more powerfull?" Richard asked the man after Will got his shootgun back.

The merchant took both the guns and turned around, "Excuse me a second", the little machinery started up again. "This might take a little longer, you might wanna make yourselves comfortable."

As the growl grew even louder giant footsteps could be heard.

The merchant then turned around and handed back the guns, "Now even better. You might wanna get moving I hear gigante approaching." The merchant smiled sinisterly and waited paitiently for the next person to get their weapons upgraded,"I also sell ammo, but you better get it quickly you don't have much time. I might wanna get going to, meet me inside the base ." The merchant then packed up his things and headed for the hatch,"Meet me a little ways in. If you have any proof of bravery I'll give another upgrade for the person that hands it to me."

NOTE: Moment of truth people, face gigante now and get it over with and believe me it wont be an easy fight or go now and end the chapter by going into the hatch and face gigante later. I suggest option two...discuss it in the discussion topic.

Magnus frowned.....

Gigante, eh? It it threatens the team.....

"I'm staying. Matt, Jay, I want you to help Richard and Jo into the passage. If you hear me tell you to close it, CLOSE IT. Trust me, Mr. Gigante won't know what hit him. Will, your choice, stay or go. Either way, I'll take him down, even is it kills me."

Damn, I'm really getting sick of playing the hero, but I gon't like the sound of GIGANTE. Sounds to me like if-you-run-I-will-find-you-and-kill-you. Oh well, I can at least buy them some time....

(OOC - For the benefit of RMB and myself, I replayed RE4 with the Killer 7. Guess what? One bullet, even unmodified, from the Killer 7 forces Gigante's Plaga to emerge. I decided to shoot the plaga after that. It died after two shots. Essentally, your boss will cost me three bullets. The other guards, however, will need to be delt with. BTW, cross-posted in discussion.)

Jo had been finishing reloading her handguns with the ammo they had fetched when Magnus said this. She immediatly protested.
"Uh-uh, there is no way I am turning and running like a pansy. My arm is fine, I'm staying to fight with you." she stood up. "And if anyone has a problem with that I will take it as a sexist comment and pummel them over the head."

Will put more ammo into his shotgun.

Man, this is not looking good. Will thought to himself.

"I'm seriously thinking discretion may be the better part of valor here, guys." Will said. The growling and footsteps got louder.

The temption to run came strong. Come on, man! You've seen worst stuff then this! he tried telling himself.

Yeah! His mind answered for him, When?!

He didn't have an answer to that.

"Seriously. I hate to say it, but running sounds like a very good idea. We don't know how long we are going to be here, and I'd rather not use a lot of ammo on whatever is making that much noise."

Dang it! Will thought. I can't leave if someone else is stay behind! Dang it, dang it, DANG IT!

Jay stood up and slowly walked over to Richard. "I'm going to the hatch. I'll help you over there if you want to go. Want to hide with the old man?"

Magnus looked over at Will, then at Jo.

"Fine, Will, go for the hatch. Jo, it's up to you. Stay or go, it's up to you. I'll buy you all time, at the least....."

"Dammit! You should come as well! If we can escape why dont do it?" Richard said to both Magnus and Jo. 'Damn... I dont want to leave any of them! I will just blame myself for leaving. Fuck it! I will help' He thought. "I will stay as well, I might have a plan that could help us survive a while longer. We are in a forest, how tall can this Gigante be? I dont know how powerfull your killer 7 is but it sure looks awesome, your gonna aim for the head right? And we others who stay could climb the trees to keep away from it or distract it from you, if you dont want to climb one yourself of course." Richard said and started climbing a big tree, after getting high up he readied his rifle and took aim at the direction where he had heard the Gigante. Also putting his Deagle so that he could reach it easily.

Will shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. Fear was making so he could hardly think. What the heck is that thing! he thought.

His mind raced, each idea more horrible than the last. Some sort of animal...no. The merchant would of hung around if it was an animal. They had enough weapons to bring down anything short of a elephant.

He shook his head again. He wanted to stay with the others, but he didn't want to fact the Gigante, whatever the heck it was. "I'm going with Jay. I still say we should run for it, but if you guys want to play hero, that's your choice."

He walked over to Jay, ready to help any wounded who wanted to come.

It's a set up. Will thought to himself. The villiagers, the sniper, and now something out there doing a King Kong impression. I don't know why, but we're being set up. And I am not going to end up like the U.B.C.S.!

Will waited to see how else was going to make a run for it.

Jay was relieved that one of his comrades was going into hiding with him. If only the people hiding survived, at least there'd be two of them. "Looks like it's just you and me, Will." Jay gave an uneasy laugh, then turned to everyone else. "I hope you all survive; remember, there's no shame in running if you ca't win. We'll leave the hatch open for you." He started towards the hatch, then stopped and said, without facing the group who would stay, "If none of you survive, we'll make sure nothing else on this island does." He gave a heavy breath, then said, "Come on, Will," and went to the hatch.
