Shinryuu... Wait, No EXP!? And good swords.
 

Has anyone who's played FFDOS (FF1) beat Shinryuu yet (I tried before beating Chaos at like Lvl. 68, and somehow won.)? That battle is rediculously hard and takes a lot of items, not to mention that he does about 500 dmg with every magic attack. Here I go and finally kill him, but I don't get any EXP at all. Luckily though, I had only lost one party member, not that it mattered. That's just so annoying. All that work for a sword that's not even half as powerful as the Ultima Weapon. Not to mention the only class capable of wielding the Ragnarok is Warrior/Knight. The last actuall good sword I got for my two Red Magic users was the Lightbringer. Are there any othwer good swords, cause my 2nd RW needs a sword better than the Deathbringer, and I don't want to have to go all the way back through wisperwind cove just to get another one. if you can help me, please do. :fighter:

I haven't gotten that far through DOS, but I do know that the Masamune found on the fourth floor of the Temple of Fiends/Temple of Chaos/Chaos Shrine (why do they change names so much?!) is an extremely potent weapon that can be wielded by a RW. I don't know how it compares to the weapons you have now because, as I said before, I'm not very far.

Ultima Weapon = A less cool Atma Weapon (if you remember the Atma Weapon from FF6, it did damage that, through some complex math, was based on the Current HP of the one equipped with it)

Omega and Shinryu are just there for difficulty's sake. IMO, the final boss from the FF6 series (Whisperwind Cove) should have been Atma Weapon (big light-brown, blue haired machine-beast, OR the green-brown, red-haired variant seen at the end of FF6). I mean, really, it'd make sense that defeating Atma Weapon (Ultima Weapon mistranslated) would yield the Ultima Weapon. And nobody likes Death Gaze (Doom Gaze).

Oh, and Masamune >>> all non-DoS exclusive weapons. If you can beat Whisperwind Cove again, you may or may not get another Ultima Weapon.

Yeah, I'm gonna try leveling up first, and if that doesn't work, then I'll go back to WC. I'm not worried about Death Gaze, but 40 floors? Again? Oh well. At the moment (BTW: My party consists of: Knight, Red Wizrd x 2, Ninja) I have (In that order) Ultima Weapon, Lightbringer, Deathbringer, Masamune. As far as Omega goes, I need to level up. Bad. I wasn't aware that RWs can equip the Masamune, though? :fighter: Mmm... SWORDs...

Hmmm thats right... Is anyone will to do 40 comepletly random floors with weak little monsters again? Oh and the bosses goes away so you don't have to worry. I have to stragy gudie with the maps and every thing, I still don't want to go back. So who wants to try to beat Omgea and Shirnyu with four white mages? I will (eventually).

Omega and shinryu were the only real challenges i had near the end of the game i was doing to much dmg for chaos or the 4 guardians *lich and that* i even killed the lich in 1 hit ><

Forty floors?! FORTY?! Earthgift Shrine only has five floors. And... weak little monsters? All you run into is Black Goblins? I'm starting to wish I had a Black Mage. My team is Knight, Ninja, White Wizard, Master.

I finally gave in and went through WC again to get the Lightbringer... *cries*
I took over a hour, and I barely got any EXP... :fighter:

You know, it just occured to me... You did get the Ragnarok, right? Why didn't you give it to your Knight and give his Ultima Weapon to your other Red Wizard? Any advanced class can wield the UW, even a Wizard or a Master. My White Wizard rocked with it!

1) The forty floors is for the Ulitmate Wepon.

2) You only get one don't go back thorugh unless you have more that one certain class ans need multiles for that wepon.

3) Damn. 0 Exp sucks. You think they would give you better.

4) Why are the two hard bosses in the water place and not the wind one?(too lazy to look for names).
