One Piece, The Great Age of Pirates
 

Let's talk about One Piece, *cheers*, the funny pirate anime that has our love-able hero and rubbery hero, Monkey D. Luffy, out looking for the legendary treasure of a dead pirate king, One Piece.

I find it a top-notch series, great animation, good storyline, and awesome characters. I don't have any complaints so far.

I like Luffy's straightforward style. It really makes him a good character. He is really fleshed out. The only thing I don't like is that he is almost invincible unless you have a sharp object or manage to throw him in the ocean.

quite the contrary, he is not nearly invincible, he just seems like it. just wait till he fights the shichibukai(sp?). also wait for smoky. hes gonna show you why hes not invincible. youll be shocked to see luffy easily put down later on.

what i really like is that luffy is SLOW. seriously SLOW. if you watch the american version then youre missing out on some good stuff. Luffy is a great pirate even tho he has an extremely small pirate crew that crew will pull him through alot.

Zoro the pirate hunter turns pirate and dreams to become the greatest swordsman in the world. Nami a great navigator and a robber of pirates uses her femininess to her advantage (and shes really cute)(yea yea i know, pathetic im rating a drawing on how cute she is but youll know what i mean when you see her in the jap version). Usopp is a shitty lair and the ships sharp shooter, what can i say he lies and hes damn bad at it. Sanji is a ladies man and knows how to impress a woman, and did i mention hes a top notch cook? and finally luffy, the one on the ship with a devils fruit ability knows that he cant do shit without his crew cause hes stupid and slow but also knows his crew needs him to lead them on adventure and to help them out when they cant help themselves anymore. damn Nami's cute. :D

To really enjoy One Piece you have to watch the unedited Japanese version. I'm assuming you can watch the unedited dubbed ones too, but the japanese voices are just too great, especially Luffy's. He has some of the greatest lines in the world...

Can´t argue. Oh, and I´m just hoping they bring it here. I REALLY am liking the Baroque Works Saga (don´t worry, I think that´s, at least, 2nd season.)

the Baraque Works stuff is like 50 some episodes long. it has its own season. and itll probably come to play in the middle to the end of the second season and end the third season or end at the start of the 4th season. honestly if you want to get the unedited jap version of One Piece PM me or Evilness or anyone else who says they know where to get it at. or look for it your self. id post it but without the approval of an Admin im not gonna think of it.

One piece is the first anime where the voices really get to me. I mean Nami and Zoro were great, and Ussop was decent. Luffy's sucks though. And when I was finally ready to forgive them...they give Sanji that accent.

I dont know maybe since I read the manga I was just expecting something more like I imagined.

Oh and manga is the true form of almost any anime. Trust me even in the subs they cut stuff out.

most of the voices get to me after watching the fan sub version. Usopps is bad. SANJI's just plain sucks. Chef Zeff is definetly NOT from the bronx and nami is not a freiken child. LOOK AT HER. her body is much older than the voice they gave her in the american dub...and not to mention really really hot.

btw. i just finished all the baroque works stuff. and that ends at like ep 126 or 127. its truely great to see it end. i got so antsi when i had to wait like a month and a half before i could get passed episode 118. im now happily at ep 128.

seriosly NAMI IS HOOT.

The only thing I like about the american Dub so far is the opening, its really catchy.

agreed, I haven't heard a theme song that catchy in a long time.

Hey anyone else notice Luffy isn't actually a pirate. Pirates by definition have to steal things (ok that isn't exactly it but you get the point), if he ever manages to get anything he just gives it away.

By the way am I the only one that figured out English translaters hate r's? Kirrara, Zoro, Krirrian (forgive misspellings) all changed with l's Killala, Zolo, Krillian
