"Ok, I'm on it, good luck." Jade jumped over the last few ninjas that were blocking her way and made her way out of the room.

Elsewhere, a chained J2 and Beowolf were watching their friends fight MM's soldiers. A gloved hand could be seen in the shadows. "It seems like yuor friends are coming and they will not stop until they kill me. Perhaps we should make this a little more interesting." He activated a communctor, "let THEM lose."

OOC: Go ahead with what we talked about Wolf and Zeph.

Wolf99x 03-03-2005 08:59 AM

OOC: right-o...even though I'm still building up to that point... :/

BIC: Wolf was in his element, hacking and slashing his way through the oncoming ninjas. Kaitlin covered him from behind, adding her own blend of sword and knife skills to the battle.

At times like these, Wolf would sometimes recite film lines as a mantra in order to keep him in the zone as it were. Now was just such a time.

"The first rule of Fight Club is that you do not talk about Fight Club" he said as he slit a ninja's throat. He started switching targets rapidly from side to side, almost seeming to become a death-dealing dervish as he did so.

"The second rule of Fight Club is that YOU," another ninja fell "DO" and another "NOT" and another "TALK" and another "ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!" three more ninjas fell to his blade.

"Third rule of Fight Club, someone yells 'Stop!', goes limp-" he sliced through a ninja's spinal column in one clean motion, "or taps out," he slammed his current opponents face into the ground, crushing it, "the fight is over."

"Fourth rule," he said as he killed one of two ninjas currently squaring off against him. "Only two guys to a fight."

As he was crossing swords with the ninja in front of him, a second ninja tried to get the drop on him. Kaitlin put a stop to that however by impaling the offending ninja with her sword.

"Fifth rule, one fight at a time fellas." she said as the ninja slid to the floor dead. She went back to fighting the few remaining ninjas as Wolf continued his attack.

"Sixth rule, no shirt," Wolf cut his opponents torso from left to right, "no shoes," then swept his legs out from under him and finished the ninja off with a stab to the heart.

"Seventh Rule," he said as he kicked a ninja into the air. "Fights will go on as long as they have to." as the ninja came down he kicked again, snapping the enemy's back and apparently blowing out part of his ribcage through his chest.

There was just one ninja left. Wolf turned and faced him with a sly grin on his face. "And the eighth and final rule. If this is your first night at Fight Club," he drew the GMR and leveled it at the ninja as it prepared to charge him. "you have to fight."

The ninja charged, the magnum roared. The black clad attacker was sent back about 10 feet, crashing to the floor with a bullet right between the eyes.

Wolf took a look at the bloodstained dojo and grinned a little bit. Checking the map on his PDAP, he could see that they weren't too far from where J2 and Beowulf were being held.

"Let's go," he said to Kaitiln.

As they left, neither of them saw three visual distortions appaear in the room. To the untrained eye, one would probably dismiss it as a glitch. But glitches don't necessarily follow people, which is what they did.

The human sized anomalies began to shadow Wolf and Kaitiln as they headed towards Beowulf and J2's "prison".

OOC: Expect a post series to come out of this...but until then... [Jaws Theme]

Raven stayed at the edge of battle as did the other ravens. They attacked the fallen corpses. Raven stayed in the shadows behind wolf.

The first order lunged himself at Monk, two guns in hand. "Thanks for jumping at the chance..."

Side stepping and watching the moron plant his foot into the wall, he squeezed the handle of the odd looking device in his hand. It looked like any other pistol, save that this one didn't have a muzzle for bullets, but instead had a green light in it's place. Under the "barrel" of this gun was another piece, attached to something that looked like an clip, this piece folded in on itself with another green light. Squeezing the trigger let these lights glow as a glowing ball of energy appeared between the two bulbs. Grinning, he eased the handle back to a holding state and watched the green plasma seek its way to the First Order assassin. He was stunned for a second, but soon dropped from a bullet to the head, a normally unfatal move. Grinning, Monk walked over to the corpse. "It worked..." He looked at his new device. "EMP Pistol. Capable of shutting down nanites for a short time so that the user becomes... human. And because this man's brain is no longer working... the nanites will not be coming back to heal him. Hm... battery at 86%?" He spun the EMP gun around a finger, then dropped it on his belt. "Best save those shots for later. I don't know just how quick this battery will recharge. Shame we didn't get this technology sooner... May have helped."

He discharged the clip from his magnum and installed a new one, spinning that around his finger, he placed that on the opposite side of his belt. Looking to see that everyone was preoccupied with something, he decided to go on and do something oof his own, something that the others didn't think of before.

Shutting down that panic button.

"Wraith... Devin! I'm off to take care of something! I need to get rid of Mastermind's plan B!" With that, he about faced, and rushed back down the hallway towards his new objective.

OOC: You have to excuse the poor quality post. The imagination drive is being sapped again...

Wolf99x 03-03-2005 10:25 PM

OOC: I told you, I'll PM you when it's time. However, that time will be soon.

BIC: Wolf and Kaitiln made their way across a catwalk connecting the dojo area with the holding area that housed J2 and Beowulf. Through the small gunports, Wolf caught a glimpse of the carnage that Scrya's reprogramming had brought. ATACs lay shattered on the ground, tanks were shredded, and Wolf couldn't even guess how many corpses littered the pavement. Then something caught his eye. "Grave" and Andrea's sister were exiting a nearby bunker.

Wolf screwed a silencer onto the Omni-Falcon that housed the IP trace bullets. Taking aim, and judging the distance, he pulled the trigger once. The tracer flew through the air and landed softly on the shoulder of Andrea's sister. The tracer activated it's camoflauge, blending in perfectly with the fabric of her shirt.

Wolf typed a quick message to Angel. "I got a trace on her, you should be able to call up her IP and location info. This is now your ballgame. Good luck."

He sent the message, then continued onwards toward his objective.

"You think he can handle it?" Kaitlin asked.

"I'm pretty sure he can...and I don't think he's going to allow himself to fail." Wolf responded.

***

There was no enemy resistance as Wolf and Kaitiln neared the signals of the two captured AIs. This troubled Wolf immensley.

It doesn't make any sense... he thought. Even as they entered the room containing J2 and Beowulf.

The two were chained up at the far end of the room. to their sides were numerous computer servers.

Wolf didn't have time to wonder about that. Right now he had priorities at hand.

"Are you two all right?" he asked the chained AIs as he and Kaitiln walked up to them.

"Jade programmed me with every conceivable safeguard against torture...I'll be ok." J2 said.

"I've been punched, beaten, and zapped...but I'm made of sterner stuff then they think. I'm going to be just fine Jason. Now get me down, please."

"Right," Wolf said. In a blur he hacked apart the shackles and freed the two AIs. "What the hell is this place?" he asked Beowulf.

"It's Agent Smith's brain...more or less. All of his memories and avatar data is stored here. Right now it's a little bigger than normal, he had to absorb the combat data of all the other agents since they've all been killed as a result of Coyote's spy efforts."

"And...Mastermind put you here because..." Wolf continued.

"I don't really know why. When Mastermind morphed the base, we must've just got shitfted and-LOOK OUT!"

The lupine AI suddenly dove in front of Wolf as the unmistakable report of a Desert Eagle sounded twice in the room. The shots tore into Beowulf's torso, and he crashed to the ground as Wolf caught sight of the attacker.

Agent Smith.

"Damn...I thought that trap would work." The agent said as he brought his gun up to take aim at Wolf. "Well, if at first you don't succeed-"

He never finished that statement. Wolf had used the enhanced nanites to practiaclly warp in front of the agent. grabbing the arm weilding the gun, he bent it at a 90 degree angle, snapping the bones viciously and sending the gun skittering across the floor. Wolf tossed the agent violently into his own servers, crushing a few of them and electrifying the agent.

Howling with rage, Wolf drew the KI-42 and opened fire on the agent's convulsing form. The bullets tore through flesh and silicon chips alike as he emptied the clip. His attack was supplemented by Kaitiln and J2, utilizing a combination of a TMP-75 and Smith's Desert Eagle respectively.

The Agent gave Wolf one look of utter disdain before he and the servers were destroyed in a ball of fire.

"Deleted and sent to hell..." Wolf muttered under his breath. He then went to Beowulf's side. The AI had been shot through the heart, and no matter how tough he had been designed to be, it was obvious that was a fatal wound.

"Hang in there buddy," Wolf said. "I should be able to use my nanites to help you."

Beowulf caught Wolf's hand as he reached out to him. "No...do not overexert yourself for my sake...it is too late for me. Right now you need to stop Mastermind at any cost. If that cost must include me...then you have to accept it. After all...I'm just mere data..."

"But you're not that to me." Wolf said. "You're a friend and an ally and I'll be damned if I'm going to let you die here."

"Jason it's far too late for me now...this form may be terminated...yet there may be a way for me to make it...but if I'm wrong...farewell. It was...fun."

With that, the AI suddenly lost his grip on Wolf and fell back into the slowly widening pool of his own blood, his eyes closed in an almost peaceful look.

Wolf blinked back a few tears, and saluted his fallen friend as the AI's shell began to break up in a series of ones and zeros.

One more death for Mastermind to atone for. Wolf thought. He turned to J2. "You need to get to Jade right now. She'll need your help in shutting down the Javelin system."

J2 nodded and warped out of the room.

"Jason, what are we going to do?" Kaitiln asked.

Wolf looked at her. "We, are going to blaze a path to the control room and kill anything that stands in our way...this will provide a buffer zone for us so we can shut down the Javelin systems with little trouble."

He took a quick look around. "We've been here too long, let's get going."

They were almost out the door when bullets tore into Kaitiln's back, sending her sprawling on the ground.

Oh...SHIT NO!

OOC: Hate to leave ya hanging, but I'm fighting unconsciouness right now.

"Wait, Monk--!"

Wraith started to turn and head back after him, but a fist flew up in his face, stopping him short. He started and looked with wide eyes down at the arm, but then snarled and ducked the next punch, then rose up with a fierce right cross that knocked the Death Squad troop back a little. These guys just don't quit...

*****

Deeper within the base and safe within his central control room, Mastermind monitors the havoc with little discernible emotion, a dark face in yet more darkness...

Another shadowy figure walks up to him then, staying within the shadows, but his figure betrays him: the man in trenchcoat from the Los Angeles parking lot. He stops close to Mastermind and pauses for a second, gathering his thoughts. "We've analyzed their attack, Father, and there is a danger... should we have your escape programs standing by?"

Incredulous, he faced his subordinate. "Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances."

Angel tossed on his tactical vest.

It was the same one he'd used at Rikers. The flaming angel wings on the back made him smile. This, however, gave his eye a deamonic gleam. Underneath it was a scarlet red neoprene shirt. For pants, he'd grabbed a pair of dark grey cargo-pants, and attached a holster for his PX4 there. On his elbows were graphite pads, and same for his knees. And, he had his gloves on. The ASP was hidden on his ankle, and the Colt SAA was on his left hip in a cross-draw holster. In his hand was the DC-9.

Greg nervously looked around, and handed Angel more C-96 speed loaders. "You want to use those. They're a new bullet I developped. Inside them is an EMP charge, so upon impact they explode like your old bullets, but they also shut down the nanites immediately around them, keeping the wound from healing."

Angel looked at them.

"Greg, I need speed-loaders for my guns," barked Angel as he walked into the hangar. He dropped the case, and opened it. Then he withdrew the C-96, and slipped it into his waist band.

"And?"

Greg produced clip for the DC-9, and the Beretta. "Standard hollowpoint. The ASP has an extra two clips two."

Angel slipped all of this into the pouches on his vest, then put the C-96 into his waistband. Then he twirled the DC-9, snapped a bullet into the chamber, and turned to his team.

It was the team that Cyber-Force Alpha had initially trained, before the First Order thing. Originally, they'd been trained as Agent killers, but Angel figured they'd be up to the task. Plus, Angel knew each of them was trustworthy.

"We're going in hot. Specifically, we're going into an office building in...Ottawa?"

Go figure. Stash a body where no one would look. Canada.

"Expect First Order, and other heavy opposition. We go in, we splatter the place, extract the subject, and then we get set for the fireworks."

Each of the team members was armed with a G36C, Angel's old fave weapon, and were equipped with light but powerful body armor, NVGs, and other nice bits.

Angel made a circle with his hand.

"Let's end this war."

As the Death Squad troops began attacking Wraith, another flood of troopers poured out at them as a secret doorway opened up. Devin cut several of them down with his captured SMG before he was forced to use it to apply terminal blunt trauma to the faces of those who came from behind them.

A few pulverized skulls later, he brought his booted feet into play as well, thrust-kicking those who came too close back into their comrades. It worked for a while, but then the human wave attack redoubled, and Devin too k a succession of hits across his body.

Angered now, he activated the ion rotors in the sarcoplasmic reticuli of his right arm, and with a single, devastating blow, he executed a body-breaking kata on a Death Squad soldier rushing him, knocking nearly a dozen of his friends backwards. Devin seized a nearby soldier with snake-swift speed, using him as a human shield and promptly rushed the remainder, shoving them back into the doorway.

Which sealed shut behind him. Leaving him alone in a long steel corridor full of Mastermind's goons.

Devin had no time to curse his foolishness before they assaulted him again. His hand flickered, and he had his CQC-7 combat folder in hand. The first trooper who came at him got the knife in his neck and a vicious, and the one beside him was kneed in the groin and finished off with an uppercut that broke his neck. The next, coming from beside him, was elbowed in the solar plexus and had his face smashed in on an armored knee. The one after that was promptly tripped by a hooking leg and had his genitals crushed to a bloody pulp by the boot on that same leg.

But they kept coming and coming, and as Devin worked his knife like a surgeon's scalpel, it got stuck in one man's cervical vertebrae and was lost as the ex-SEAL delivered a two-handed haymaker to the man's chest to get him out of the way.

This is getting nowhere, fast. I can;t hold them ALL off, not with my hands and feet alone...

Devin tapped into his bioelectric reserves, and his movements picked up speed, like ice on hot metal, as he sent men flying with vicious kicks and palm strikes. And for a while, it worked, sheer ferocity holding back the tide of humanity swamping him. But eventually, the brief boost wore off, and Devin was hanging on for dear life again. Fortunately, he had activated the Sentinel auto-targeting system in his nano-enhanced brain, and the program was helping him estimate and track the movements of his enemies, reducing the workload placed on him at the tactical level.

I need to use it... but I can't get it in time with all of them around me-

A fist barely missed him. Devin seized it, flipped it over and broke it with an elbow strike on the reverse of the joint before jerking the man over and flipping him head over heels with a brief underarm motion. One tried a flying kick on him from the side and was immediately turned into a flying missile to strike down his friends, thanks to a joudan atemi nage. The sudden breathing room on his left gave him time to focus-

-here goes-

-and he gave himself over entirely to the Sentinel program, letting sheer mechanical processing power take the place of slow, conscious thought. At the same time, the bioelectric pathways of his body shimmered bright as Devin shunted a large portion of his reserves into his limbs.

Devin had been fast and skilful before, but now he was simply brutal. Armored chests crumpled under his sledgehammer punches and bodies were tossed like rag dolls, some turned into clubs and used to beat back the oncoming soldiers until the gruesome bludgeons broke. At one point, he was hitting so hard that he actually had to divert energy to the healing nanites in his extremities, because he was breaking the bones in his hands and feet with his vicious strikes.

At the end of the brief flurry of violence, Devin was left in a ten-foot wide circle strewn with moaning bodies, and some which lay very, very still.

Now! The Maugetar!

Devin whipped out his PDA and began the download of the weapon program. The horde of Mastermind's men stared in mixed fear and curiosity... then they fell upon him again. Devin closed his eyes as they neared him, and threw his hands up.

Yes.

Three armored men neared him. They were thrown back as hunks of bloody meat in seconds. In front of them was Devin, arm thrown out, holding some kind of strange weapon in two hands. It looked like an elongated, tapered insecticide fogger, but no such device had a wicked, curved blade jutting out the side at a ninety-degree angle, giving it the look of a great scythe.

Currently, Devin had it pointed down and to one side, still in the position he had cleaved the three men in. He looked up from the ground and grasped a handle on top of the weapon, levelling it at the stunned throng. He smiled, and the air froze around the upturned lip.

"I am become Death, destroyer of worlds."

Then he pulled the strange weapon's trigger.

The weapon was called the Maugetar. It was described as a "heavy support electrostatic assault weapon. It fired a cloud of monomolecular diamond shuriken at its victims, reachign speed equal to a small fraction of the velocity of light. Admittedly, due to the poor ballistics and the light weight of the discs, they didn't have much accuracy beyond a hundred meters.

However, it had a fire rate of a few hundred discs per second. The discs ripped through conventional Kevlar and even composite "heart plates" like the proverbial hot knife through butter. They shattered where the perimeters of the its cone of effect touched the wall, and into a spray of ultra-sharp needles that spun when they entered the body.

The length of the corridor, filled with thronging Death Squad soldiers, exploded into clouds of crimson mist, the surreal sight's effect made even stranger by the weird whine of the Maugetar's acceleration field running at full tilt and molecular slicers cutting the deadly shuriken from the parent block of synthetic diamond.

At great length, Devin let go, and he surveyed the carnage. Nothign was standing. Nothing whole, at least. Chunks of meat littered the ground. Limbs twitched amidst pools of gore. The walls were painted an arterial red and the place reeked of death. It would haunt his nightmares for the rest of his life.

Behind Devin, a small door opened. He couldn't see what was beyond it. Eager to distance himself from the sight of the slaughter, he stepped through, Maugetar in hand.

Wolf99x 03-06-2005 12:08 PM

Wolf moved quickly as a supersonic bolt hit the ground just behind his feet. Scooping up Kaitiln, he began running to the room's exit. Gunfire continued to erupt all around him. He knew that no matter how quickly he moved, it would only be a matter of time before his luck ran out.

I need some way to hide, he thought. If only it were dark...wait.

Acessing the base's network through his neural uplink, Wolf managed to hack through the lower levels of security clearance and reach the lighting controls for the rooms in his immediate area.

With just a thought, the room plunged into darkness, save for the small flickering fire that was Agent Smith's tomb.

Mastermind will probably get the lights back up in only a minute or two. I'll have to work quickly Wolf thought as he exited the room into a darkened hallway, and placed Kaitlin on the floor. Placing her hand in his, he began to use his nanites to transfer his thoughts to hers, and vice versa.

Kaitiln, are you all right?

I...think so. Most of the bullets were stopped by the nanoarmor...but one got through, ricocheted off my spine, and exited through a rib. I've also got a round in my hip. I don't know how long the nanites will take to heal this. I...can't walk. What the hell are they armed with?

Well, there are three gunmen. I couldn't see them they must be cloaked. My guess is more First Order Assassins. Two were armed with submachine guns, MAC-10s judging by the sound. The last gun I can't place. It sounded like a railgun but...smaller. Although that would explain how they got through the nanoarmor. Right now I need to take advantage of the darkness and get rid of them. You stay here and recover...play dead as it were.

All right...please come back safely

Wolf gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. Don't worry. I will. Slowly he got up and headed back into the room. The was now only embers, leaving the room almost completely pitch black. Wolf was tempted to activate either the IR vision or Electromagnetic vision that his augmentations provided, but he stopped himself.

If I do that, my eyes...and my bioelectric pathways are going to light up like a goddamn Christmas tree. However, so would theirs...even if they are cloaked it still leaves a small visual distortion. Which means we're all on equal footing. he took out his "borrowed" cloaking device, clipped it to his belt, and activated it, rendering him invisible. Well...now we are.

He completely powered down his nanites, making sure there was no way he would show up in this room. He decided that in order to catch the gunmen, he'd have to fall back on the training he got in Japan. Slowly he relaxed his body, and closed his eyes, so that only his ears would be able to tell him where his enemies were. He stood absolutely still in order to make sure he made no noise himself.

Faintly he heard footsteps begin to approach him. He could distinctly make out three different people walking towards his position. Two of them stopped, one on his left one on his right, while the third began to head towards the hallway.

"I think they escaped." The one who was walking towards Kaitiln said.

"Are you sure?" The assassin to Wolf's left said. "Did you use Night Vision?"

"I'm not going to risk revealing myself," the first one replied. "I say we report back to the Elites."

"No, we should keep looking," the assassin on the right said. "I need to power down my cloak, it's beginning to overheat."

Wolf knew the assassins on his right and left were within his reach. The one further away was probably 10 to 12 feet from him. He also knew the lights would be on any second now...they had been off for a little more than a minute.

He turned so that he was facing the assassin that was the furthest from him.

"I hear something!" the assassin to Wolf's new right said just before Wolf's hand shot out and grabbed his throat. Just as his fingers took hold, the lights snapped back on, and Wolf turned on his nano-augs. Wolf could see all of the assassins had just dropped their cloak fields.

The assassin to Wolf's left saw the cloak distortion that Wolf was leaving, and lashed out with a kick to Wolf's head. Wolf used the momentum of the kick to spin and rip out the trachea of the assassin he was holding. As Wolf spun, he caught the assassin that kicked him with a scissor maneuver, snapping the assassin's neck as he brought him to the ground.

The last assassin went for his gun, but Wolf leapt at him, kicking his hand away, punching the asassin in the chest with a jab, and then emptying one of his Omni-Falcons into the soldier's chest. To make sure the assassin was dead, Wolf punched him hard in the throat, causing his spine to puncture the back of his neck.

Wolf checked the bodies. Amidst the pool of blood that resulted from the trachea rip, Wolf found a gun that looked similar to a Walther PPK, but the silencer looked a little larger than usual. After finding he couldn't remove the silencer, Wolf ejected the clip and took a look. What he found was that all of the rounds looked like small railgun shells, and he finally realized that this was a rail pistol; Designed to be the penultimate weapon in terms of stopping power.

Wolf pocketed the weapon, figuring it might come in handy at some point.

He was about to head back to where Kaitiln was when he stopped. For some reason...something didn't feel right.

There's someone else here...
