"What about you Rydia?" Celes asked, looking at her.

Dragonsbane 03-03-2005 10:44 AM

Palom stumbled suddenly, falling against Celes. Over the last half hour or so, he had been casting spell after spell, and now it was beginning to take its toll.

Flarecobra 03-03-2005 07:56 PM

Celes catches Palom. "Hey, you ok? Must be warn out from using too much magic without resting." She set him down next to a wall and looked around herself for something to help him. "Rydia, you wouldn't happon to have an ether or something like that, would you?"

Dragonsbane 03-03-2005 08:08 PM

Palom blinked in surprise, having expected more or a sneering comment or rebuke...certainly not this gentle treatment. He managed a weak smile, "I think it was the fall, too...I didn't have time to catch myself." he looked up at her, removing his hat and glasses.

Flarecobra 03-03-2005 08:34 PM

"Well, you rest a bit. You deserve it. You were a big help." Celes said, looking at him. Then looking up at the hole she said "Guess we wait then."

Dragonsbane 03-03-2005 08:54 PM

"Celes...thank you." he looked back at her, his face pale and wan. Having killed about half the guards with magic on his way to find the girls, his condition was truly dangerous.

Rydia finally moved up to Celes and Palom. "I tried calling to the others, but they wouldn't respond. I guess the trap door closed behind us and now they won't be able to find us."

She looked a bit exhausted herself. "What I wouldn't give for my White Magic back." She said, then explained. "People gifted with White Magic had a spell called Psyche, which drained mana from the enemy and transferred it to the caster. To serious mages who really rely on our spells like Palom and myself, that spell would do us some real good, but I lost the ability to cast White Magic before I even learned the spell myself." Rydia kept standing, not wanting to ruin her clothes. Her leather pants, white tank top, and sneakers were left in the mansion. She was still wearing the red tube top, the leather jacket wrapped around her wait, the knee high boots, and the fingerless gloves. The shades she had were broken in the fall to the sewers. Rydia smiled childishly. "Now I know how Cecil felt when he told me about traveling through the underwater tunnel below Castle Baron in our world. He used it to sneak into the castle when Golbez had taken it over. You were there with him, weren't you, Palom? Cecil told me that the trip down there would have been much more difficult without your lightning and your sister's healing."

OOC: "In case you need more backstory on the tunnels underneath Baron, DB, the party was Cecil the Paladin, Palom, your White Mage sister Porom, the wise Sage Tellah, and High Monk Yang. I personally relied on Palom and Porom a lot. They had more MP and greater effect with their spells than Tellah."

Dragonsbane 03-04-2005 02:02 PM

OOC: and Twin, they had Twin. For some reason, hearing that always makes me think of the Wonder Twins. :p

IC: He shifted against the algae-coated wall, shrugging slightly, "Hey, it's what I'm good at...blasting things. I have a question for you too..Rydia..how did you lose your White Magic?" he still looked exhausted, but his voice was steady despite mental and physical fatigue.

'Blasting every guard who saw me was NOT a good idea...' he thought, wincing a little.

Astral Harmony 03-04-2005 03:50 PM

OOC: Peter Griffin / Brain the Dog: "Wonder Twin Powers, activate!"
Peter: "Form of...steam!"
(long silence)
Brian: "Peter, we got these out of a box of Frankenberry."

IC: Rydia looked down the other end. "I'm not quite sure, myself. In the Land of Summoned Monsters, I learned a lot from King Leviathan and Queen Asura. One thing I didn't notice until it was too late was the changes in my power. I barely noticed the changes in my physical appearance until they really became noticeable." Rydia reached up and stroked her chin. "Maybe it was the fact that I could cast White Magic, Black Magic, and still summon monsters that I wasn't truely powerful in any of those areas. My White Magic wasn't terribly useful for Cecil when I was traveling with him. Only in the Cave of the Antlion..."

OOC: "The party consisted of Dark Knight Cecil, Edward the Bard, and Rydia in the Cave of Antlion so there was no one else to do the healing."

IC: "...did I take the position of primary healer. Before then, I was second in that regard because of the Sage Tellah's help, and after that, Cecil had Rosa, his childhood friend and professional White Mage to take on the responsibility. Mostly, they just relied on my Black Magic and Summoning. That might be a factor, but it could just as easily been some other influence." Rydia then walked ahead and peered deeper into the sewers. "None of us are from this world, so we must be very careful about what we do. Anyways, I feel a hint of fresh air, so there must be an exit somewhere."

OOC: "Considering the sewers of Sector 6 connect to the ones in Sector 7, there's a high chance that the falling of the plate from above brought cave ins and worse into the sewers where we're located now."

Cloud Strife 03-05-2005 05:57 PM

OOC: Fug, on page 2 already? There's a lot of RP's goin' on right now...

IC: Cloud was becoming more confused as he looked around. "I have no clue what's going on, Cecil..."

He called out again, "Tifa? Hey, where are you?"
