Actually, Rhiya, the pools are magically cleaned. However, since your power isn't exactly far-reaching, you wouldn't be able to affect a significant portion of the pool. Most likely, the 'filters' will shut off in the area that you are in, but return to their functioning state when you leave that small area. So just don't stay in one place for too long, mkay?

Edited to add: Pools have about three different filtering thingamabobs. First is the chlorine, which acts an antiseptic to kill any germs that people bring into the pool. Then there's the mini-filters, which are normally scattered around the edge of the pool. These are unpowered and use the natural movement of the water to filter out any large objects, like bugs, leaves, or such. Finally, the water is continuously pumped through an actual filtration system.

Bringing the PCs together sounds like a promising endeavor; so far, for the most part, the PCs haven't interacted a whole lot, and some haven't even met one another. I like SS's idea - something attacks the school and forces people to band together to defeat it.

On another topic altogether, has anyone else noticed how slowly time moves in this RP? It's a week and a half old, into its second chapter, and it's still Wednesday.

Bailey 02-28-2005 03:03 PM

i have an idea.

whoever it was that has that time distortion ability, unbeknownst to anyone, even themselves, is affecting the flow of time in the school and this is bad for some reason. they are doing this because of telepathic commands that they are unaware of, so we must go find the person who is doing this and stop them.

it explains the slow movement of time and brings all the PC's together to do something

IHateMakingNames 02-28-2005 03:59 PM

You seem to have misunderstood (Most of you). I am not asking for ideas, but if I should do an event (Though some ideas brought up I will remember, others I won't).

Also, RP time, it's only been an hour and a half. When you have about 17 players, things move a bit slower than usual. The free-form story slows it down even more.

Really, the time is actually different between players. Though people are staying at around the same time, so I ignore what time it should be per player, and put them all in the same time.

AB, no lockers. You have an entire room, why would you have a locker?

Incendius 02-28-2005 04:17 PM

IHMN could you start the tourney for the three of us? Since no one else seemes to be joining.

IHateMakingNames 02-28-2005 04:24 PM

It's your tournament, being held by your teacher. You start it.

Rhiya Ravenwing 02-28-2005 04:38 PM

Zweihander: I know that :p but does CHRYSALIS know?

But thanks for clearing it up anyway.

Incendius 02-28-2005 04:38 PM

What I meant was that I thought you would want to arrange who fights who like

IHateMakingNames 02-28-2005 04:43 PM

I really don't care how the matches go. I also don't feel like making them up. Though, it wouldn't be hard, since you only have to worry about the first matches for the player controlled characters (If they advance, then you have to make more matches,).

Incendius 02-28-2005 05:44 PM

Alright the first round is going up, if you encounter an npc just beat them up however you want to. If you have a fight with one of my npc's you can still beat them but plz just don't make it an humiliating defeat. Their supposed to be at the top of the class.

My Npc's are are Selsiss, Gracht, and Huagh.

I'm guessing Krylo wants to be his npc Susumu in the tournement

IHMN's charecter is Michael so I think he wants to be him.

I don't think anyone else sighned up but if you want to fight in this tournement I'm not starting it till tommorow.

IHateMakingNames 02-28-2005 08:12 PM

Pyros, if the NPC should be all logical means beat the PC, the PC will lose.

Raiden has now joined the RP.

Ecurt, Rin wouldn't be Ripel's new teacher unless he wants her to. Unless a student does not go to any classes, the school lets them choose their classes.

Zweihander 02-28-2005 08:16 PM

Ecurt, question: What the hell are the three's names? I've seen Ro and Roe, Sham and Shame, and Bo and Bow. Which is it, man?

Also, a Dark Elf with the name Aryan. Brilliant. :D

Truce 02-28-2005 09:42 PM

Zweihander-Can you point to me any time I post using the names Ro, Shame, or Bo? If there's any confusion, I'll edit those posts now, heh.

IHMN-Whether or not he likes Rin, he wants to take that class...now if she's a terrible teacher, then comes the problem.

Edit: Bah, Bo not Bow...

You've been using Bow consistently, but it turns out that that's the name on the app. You called Sham Shame in your latest post, right at the beginning. And I think my brain is playing tricks on me all over the place...

Never mind my questions, I've had enough bad luck today...

Name: Jerle Boh
Race: Human
Age: 17
Sex: Male
Appearance:Jerle stands a staggering 6'5" but isn't very well built. He slouches forward most of the time and his parents had often tried to fix his posture to no avail. He has very dark brown hair that is slowly turning black with time. Piercing blue eyes, often stare off into the distance, behind bangs that cover almost down to the bottom of his eyes. The rest of his hair is of about equal length and curls in random directions. It's often hard to tell if he ever brushes his hair. Jerle is usually about as pale as a ghost but on occasion he breaks with his indoor life to have some fun outdoors. This usually results in a sunburn after a short period of time. Clothing, when not in uniform, varies but usually consists of darker color clothing and some sort of long coat with many pockets.
Gift: Jerle has the ability to use and learn, often through experiments, alchemy very easily. (Think FMA and a bit of the traditional stuff they tried to do in the past.)
Gift Source: Jerle's power is the consequence of growing up near an alchemst who dumped failed experiments into the pond where he used to swim.
Personal Belongings: He has a small set of chemicals and equipment that was gifted to him by the alchemist he used to live next to. The alchemist noticed Jerle's gifts and had given him some lessons before sending him to the school and decided to give him a gift as a going away present. Along with this set of equipment the alchemist gave him a few pieces of alchemic calk which aids in the drawing of circles for the same reason as above.
History: Jerle's family grew up rather poor on the outskirts of a medium sized city. They never wanted for anything thought because his mother worked for the alchemist that lived near them. Instead of paying her in money he would help with the growing of crops and fixing things when needed. Jerle's father worked hard in the fields which through the alchemist help always provided more than enough food. Jerle's father wanted Jerle to follow him into his profession as a farmer but as he grew older Jerle began to have other ideas. There was a nice pond behind the alchemist house that he was warned not to play around many times. Ignoring the advice as most children do he would often take long swims in it's water. The chemicals and ambiant magical energies in the water gifted him with a talent for alchemy and the channeling of alchemical magic. That combined with the teaching of the owner of the pond gave him a great headstart on life.
Personality: Jerle seems withdrawn most of the time simply because he doesn't like large groups of people. Most of the time he will hover around the edge of a large group and simply listen. After he gets to know a person he can be very chatty. Sometimes he can be a little too chatty. In small groups of people he knows well he can also be quite chatty. Other than that he is a hard worker that likes to share his knowledge to anyone in need or anyone that will listen, provided he is in a small group. He also has a very unique sense of humor that is highly focused on his acute sense of irony.

May I also suggest an alchemy wing to the school, some of the experiments they might do would need to be away from the school if something went wrong. If this gets approved I'll do more work later on the new wing even create a teacher or two.

IHateMakingNames 02-28-2005 11:20 PM

As long as he has to draw the circles for alchemy, nothing is wrong. And by traditional stuff, do you mean things like potions and chemical mixes to turn lead to gold?

And if you want an alchemy building (Not wing since it's not one large building, but many spread out buildings with commons inbetween), make one. Same with teachers

Sithdarth 02-28-2005 11:29 PM

Oops meant to say building because it should be anyway from the rest of the school aways. Yeah the traditional stuff would be more on the order of chemistry but with a few things you couldn't do with chemistry like potions and stuff your basic DnD type alchemy. He does have to draw the circles he is just really good at making new ones and it doesn't take quite so much out of him to start a reaction. I'll get working on the buildings and stuff soon.

edit: Also, I'm not opposed to rooming with anyone that needs a roomate. If not I'll figure something out.

OmniShadow 03-01-2005 12:45 AM

My character is on his way to the mental controll class so anyone else that has that class should go there, of course it may be a break in between that can make you able to do other stuff before that.

Raiden 03-01-2005 12:53 AM

I'll room with your character, SithDarth.

Just come find my guy, saying that we're rooming, or something.

Rhiya Ravenwing 03-01-2005 01:24 AM

I've made it so that Chrysalis won't start her sessions until tomorrow.

IHMN, just for the count, since you would probably like to know anyway, Chrysalis' school timetable is as follows:

Breakfast
8:30-9:30 – Science: Advanced Biology (Ms Vantage)
9:30-10:15 – leisure time/study time.
10:15-11:30 – training (Ms Vantage)
11:30-12:00 – leisure time/study time
Lunch
1:00-2:00 – sparring (Ms Vantage)
2:00-2:40 – leisure time/study time
2:40-3:30 – theory: magic vs science (Ms Vantage)
3:30-4:00 – theory experimentations (Ms Vantage)
4:00-5:00 – Science: Chemistry (Ms Vantage)
Rest of the evening – dinner, leisure time/study time.
Suggested sleeping time – 10:00

Krylo 03-01-2005 03:01 AM

You know, Rhiya, you can go to more than one teacher... and the school doesn't actually enforce you going to classes, ever. You just go to which ones you want.

Ms. Vantage is probably only there a few months out of the year too. Most of the teachers are heros that travel around, and just stop by to teach when they're in the area.

P.S.

IHMN: Time for a new discussion thread.

Rhiya Ravenwing 03-01-2005 03:09 AM

just a reply to Krylo's suggestion:

Chrysalis likes a strict timetable. Anyway, it's a suggestion, and that's basically what her day's gonna be like if she DOES go to the sessions.

That, and I haven't thought up of other teachers yet, so Ms Vantage is the default one I'll refer to. There will be slight changes to it once I get around to improving it and stuff. That's just the basic timetable she will be following.

Krylo 03-01-2005 03:21 AM

You could use other people's teachers too, or the ones IHMN made. He has a website that compiles all the characters (player and otherwise) here. Some of them would be good for your sparring class, depending on the weapon you want to use.

Or you could still create your own. The school is supposed to be fairly insanely huge, so multiple teachers are allowed for the same subject.

Totally not trying to prod you into taking classes with other PCs or anything.

Rhiya Ravenwing 03-01-2005 03:34 AM

alright. But like I said, there will be changes. I don't even know who's taking what classes.

that, and I'm not totally familiar with other NPC teachers either... oh well, I'll just play it by ear... or fingers... or sight... o.O

BTW: if I am allowed to borrow NPC teachers from others, can I borrow some of yours?
