I....am retarded

i bought myself a Gameboy Advance for Christmas like a week ago. Today was the last day of school, so all we were doing would be watching movies. I figured it'd be alright for me to open it up...ffta is more fun that school. In class, while playing my Gameboy Advance, the teacher gave me a chocolate. Not thinking, I threw it in my pocket, and after class, the Gameboy as well. Now I have chocolate in my Gameboy...does anybody know how I can get it out? Im using a toothpick, but thats slow-going, and not working too well. Any help is appreciated.

It's Gameboy Advance SP, right? And you got chocolate in between the screen and the controls, yes?

WOW! IM NOT ALONE! I did this with old my game boy color. Never got all of it out.

Oops, forgot to say SP....i got the screen clean, and none got in the buttons, but theres a ton of it stuck in the back. You know, those little port thingers. Still going at it with a toothpick.
Does anyone know if water will completely kill it?

I don't know but it seems like a bad idea to put more and more things in the gameboy until it balances out. For instance the same choclatifeid gameboy color mention before did not become fixed when it got a gallon of sand in it.

Well, common sense says Electronics+Water=Paperweight. But my advice is as follows: Take cotton swabs, wet them with hot water, and rub them in the ports untill the chocolate is removed. After the chocolate is gone, let the water dry up and it should work like nothing happened.

I only hope you didn't get any in the cartrage slot. If you did, that could be a problem.

I doubt that water will do anything to it... Nintendo makes all their consoles, especially the hand helds, extra strong. You've heard things people have done to old gameboys and they still work... Out on lawn for weak, chewed by dog, rained on, lawn mowered, and only no sound or something. Dropped down stairs, chucked down stairs, nothing. Flushed down toliet, found is sewer, forgot what was wrong with it, but nothing that doesn't make it unplayable...

Oh I done it once with my advance, except with bubble gum. It took me three months to take out it all with a toothpick. I'm guessing chocolate is worse in the after affects, because of the stickyness.

im terribly sorry for what im about to do.
...
bwahahaha! sucks to be you! ahahahaha!

Sofa_King_Lazy 12-20-2003 01:58 AM

...I hate you.

But it's actually going pretty good. I got all I can out with the toothpick, and the charger cord works fine. The 'L' button is really sticky though, and I can't get any more off of it.
