Swords of Fate: Tomb of the wraith pt.1
The air ship flew smoothly into the morning sun. It's wings spread and humming as it's engines turned the electric propellers. The group sleeping peacefully in the cargo hold. they were awakened by the calm voice of the captain "This is your captain speaking. We are currently cruising over crescent lake near the town of Luna. I'd like to ask you to make sure all your personal belongings are secure, I'm begining my decent. Thank you for flying Seraph Air."
Drae'san was awake before the rest of the group he was looking over the two pages of inteligence on their first target. The sword was a scimitar type marked with wind motifs on the handel. It was a gift to a great king, but was stolen from him by the great assassin Akuma. Akuma went against the guild and started a rebellion in the secret order. The assassins sealed akuma alive in his tomb for his crimes. According to the intelligence the decendents of the dissidants were after Akuma's tomb so they could use his weapon the sword whirlwind to start the rebellion once again. |
Zato stirred. The night had been uneventful, and he had managed to catch up with much-needed sleep in the meantime.
Silently, he rose from his place beside Khakoi and Drae'san (for some reason, he could never find himself separated from those two for too long) and noticed the latter poring over the intelligence briefs. "..stolen... Akuma...sealed alive in tomb..." "Looks like our friend here may not be one of the living any longer." he mused. |
"well even an elf will die of starvation after 1500 years."
|
Khakoi opened an eye at the sound of the captain's announcement. She rested her head on her arms, staring up at the ceiling, "So if he's dead already, we shouldn't have much to worry about... right?"
|
"Well there is the assassins guild dissidants we have to deal with."
|
"Psh. The assasin group shouldn't be too hard to take care of..." She picked herself up to a sitting position, "Now where is Illuser?" She looked around.
"I'm right here master," A voice called from the other side of the room. Khakoi walked over to her sword and placed it back in the scabbard at her waist, where it belonged. She looked back to the other people, guessing what they were thinking, "Yes, my sword talks. And sometimes he can be the damned most annoying thing in the world." |
Everyone felt a sudden impact then another then the hum of the engines lessened. The air ship decelerated and a load hum replaced the muffled hum of the engines. A locking sound was heard. "Welcome to crescent lake." the rocking of waves was felt along the ship. "Please ready your gear to disembark. All horses must also disembark." Another impact was felt and a door in the back of the air ship opened. It formed a ramp to grass covered beach. "Thank you again for flying Seraph air."
Drae'san took the reins of Proda and led his horse off the ship and onto the beach. |
Jude got out of his meditation and began to walk outside the airship.
|
Tama slowly got up, and rotated his neck, making his bones crack. Years of service to his shogun had made him old before his time. He pulled his sword out, and looked deep into it's crystal blade.
"Ready to go, little guy?" The sword seemed to whistle, and it glowed a few colors. "Yup, I knew you were." Tama walked outside, and whistled. His stallion came galloping up. He grabbed the reigns, and jumped on. He proceeded to follow Drae'san. He was trying to read the paper on the sword they were going after. "You know, they talk a lot about the PERSON who had the sword, but they really don't say much about the sword itself. My question is, what the hell does it do?" |
"Presumably, it would be able to command the wind, summon hurricanes, steal the very breath from your throat... or something like that."
He inspected himself quickly, making sure that everything was still there, then started to wake everyone else up. "Oh, and Khakoi... talking swords aren't necessarily the worst ones." |
