Avatars
I have a question: Where do you find 8-bit theater avatars?
Answer if you can please. |
I think most people crop them out of the comics and use them like so. Most also recolor the background... but that's not necessary persay.

How do I do that?
|
Go to a comic, find one with a character in a pose that you like, open it up in MS paint (you can do it easier in other programs, but I'm assuming you have paint, and don't know about other ones), then click the selection tool in the upper right hand of the tool area, make a square around it, go to cut, then resize the paint area by clicking the blue dot in the lower right hand corner, and drag it up to the upper left hand corner. Then go to edit paste, it will ask if you want to make the paint area big enough for the paste, select yes, then click someplace off the area, go to save as... save it as whatever you like, then use some other program (I like irfanview, and you can download it for free) to convert that bitmap to a jpg. You may have to resize it to make it small enough, depending on which character/pose/comic you take.

Huh I dont under stand.

ok...
1) Save a comic to your hard drive. 2) Open the picture up using MS Paint 3) Select the character that you want using the tools I pointed out before. 4) Go to edit, and then select cut. 5) Shrink the size of your paint area down. 6) Go to edit and then select paste. 7) Go to file and select save picture as. 8) Put in a name and save it 9) Use another program to save that file as a .jpg 10) Resample or Resize that picture to 100x100 11) Save again 12) Upload to boards |
He's such a helpful little metal skull, isn't he?
|
There's nothin' little about me, baby! Normally a sexy wink would come here, but I refuse to use emoticons on forums.
Anyway... I'm so helpful, that if he still doesn't get it, I'll make him one myself... but I'll make it with whatever character I want. Mwahaha. The crazy old man shall be him! Quote:
