I figured that Tiller would bend back all rubbery to avoid it, thus making kind of a cup around the blade, which would prevent him from moving to the side while the sword was still there without hitting it. He then charged forward to continue driving into that point and force Tiller to continue stretching or get stabbed or start running backwards, etc.
