:bmage: Didn't you know? it was talk like fighter day..but...um...worse? darn...
Wait...so you lock onto a monster...and it turns into a 2D fight zone like SSBM...while the computer is doing the same thing to others? ....wow...very good idea. Now I will save money up and buy it. Sorry and thank you. Oh ya rent 1st |
To correct the what Sandrock said: It's 3-D fighting I can assure you. The battle system is nothing like SSBM due to the fact you have hit points. You have a lot of combination's you can pull off thanks to tecniques you can do. If you truly love real time battle RPG's this is the game for you. The lock on is magnificent making it easy to take out enemies one-by-one.
This game has the best story and the most plot twists you can think of. |
Actually, the plot's about as clichéd as they come. If it weren't for the plot twists every five non-battle minutes, then the story would be terrible. Yet somehow, they managed to take a completely unoriginal story and make it exciting. That says a lot for the quality of the game. That and the fact that random battles are fun! There are no "select fight command 'til they die" fights. Even encountering low level monsters is an excuse to use your old techniques so that you can get the higher level techs. Then there are the skits; strange, cheap, but entertaining. All in all, the game's just fun to play. Its biggest flaw is the multiplayer camera (there are two of us! we should both be able to play!), but since most RPGs don't even have multiplayer, it's forgivable.

But does it really matter? the fights are fun, original, and addicting. Buy it. Its good. |
Well it can't use the stab feature because in this game they went Final fantasy and made it so that the warriors are only swordsmen and can't use other weapons. In tales of phantasia you could use swords, hammers, battle axes, and I think lances, which means a stab or a slash's effectiveness varied on the weapon, A sword having a mostly balanced stab and slash, a hammer having a mighty slash but no stab, and a lance having no slash but a good stab. Since Symphonia doesn't have this, the slash/stab is virtually useless, and doesn't even help you raise your combo.
And about the Evil weapons, got em all. My brother has killed so many with Lloyd's that he's dishing out 2000 every hit. And I'm doing a good amount of damage with krato's alternate but my six strike lowers my attack a good bit too. The evil boss was a piece of cake for me and Morgue (my brother) |
I can admit the last boss was the easiest because it was only one person and once you gang up on the last person in the arena its so much easier. 2000 a hit is just about impossible, maybe in a combo, or if you cheated and used action replay. I was doing over 5000 in a combo before just in random battles, boss battles less then half that. What makes it cliched is the fact that every RPG uses the same guidelines. Kratos
I think Kratos might be the same voice actor for Master Miller and Liquid Snake in MGS (Twin Snake and Original). I think he's also the voice actor for Jack in Robotech: Battlecry. :fighter:

2000 a hit is not impossible. The evil weapons do damage = the # of encounters you've fought. So if he played thru twice like I did, it would be easy to have 2000 encounters.
