OOC: I would think more of them are loyal to the previous king, and are just getting to follow you, when the princess, who they would be more loyal to, is right there. If more of the gaurds and solders were corrupt and followed Cid, none of this would have been needed. And of course I realized he had inside men, but there were less of them, and these guys aren't them, or he wouldn't have even stopped for a second to talk.

ooc: your being idealistic. Most of them would believe what they are told by their superiors. case in point: scientists before the renaisance were burned at the stake as witches. Gallileo was almost burned as a witch, but he recanted while being tried. You can reason with them all you want they'll still kill you and collect their reward.

IHateMakingNames 12-21-2003 06:07 PM

OOC: Scientist were doing much more then questioning leadership, they were questioning how everything worked, how people exist and survive, what's above the sky, etc. And again, they might possibly be fighting the princess, and they realize that.

Squishy Cheeks 12-21-2003 06:11 PM

ooc: my point is, if you're going to question the establishment in this situation you need an army behind you first. The victors right the history. And so far Cid has won. Your not going to be able to march up to the castle and get Cid to come out. You'd end up in the dungeon headed for a public execution as a traitor. No one is going to recognize you now. Monarchs had people killed for far less crimes. Such as the inability to produce a male heir.

IHateMakingNames 12-21-2003 06:13 PM

OOC: Again, princess, big important role here. Your guy just sending someone who may be the princess, and has your hand picked people supporting that idea, but if Cid just sent her to duegon then kills her without letting her speak, that's just asking for rebellion since the people are probably more loyal to old king then new.(Of course, you will say that they are more loyal to Cid, but neither of us can choose that) And not all places needed male leaders(Queen of England is example)EDIT: Er... I meant Eygpt, at some point Eygpt had female leaders

Squishy Cheeks 12-21-2003 06:24 PM

ooc: Henry the sixth was deposed in a coup and later killed and nobody revolted. You seem to think people liked the royal family for some reason. One king is as good as any other to these people.

IHateMakingNames 12-21-2003 06:26 PM

OOC: Not all places needed male leaders. And I think comparing real world history to a fantasy world, is a rather weak arguement. You also assume that everyone just wants to blindly follow someone.

OOC: Okay you two. Shut. UP.

IHMN: You're challenging everything that's been set up in wee bits throughout this RP. While normally I would support this, the majority of us that are watching can see that you're more right then wrong, but still. It ain't. Your. RP.

JAD: You're being a baby right now. Aw, the little plan that you came up with that relied on an entire kingdom being nothing but idiots is being challenged. Baby, I'll cry you a river. No one ever said that they were mindless people who never had an opinion about their king. Suck it up, stop being a whiny brat, and GET OVER IT.

Celes gets the final call. NOT YOU.

Squishy Cheeks 12-21-2003 06:28 PM

ooc: Weak argument. I'm arguing real proven cases of sociological structure. You using the wizard did it argument. Learn to debate, and come back to me I'm tired of these one sided deabates with you. You don't even pose a challenge.

IHateMakingNames 12-21-2003 06:29 PM

OOC: I don't want the final call. I wanted to stop right when Celes left, since only she can control the gaurds. And my arguements are that people can think, not everyone wants to blindly follow one leader, and your further in schooling then I am, and probably research history, but I know that some points in history were female leaders, and royal family loyal people...

EDIT: And also, you assume that since these people have no technology and use old weapons, they think like people from thousands/hundreds of years ago, but they could think like us in the real world do in modern times.
