Tenshi began scribing symbols on pieces of paper and chanting sutras. (ooc: tn 10 the baby is getting heavier, it's glow is growing.)

Tenshi's bow beaded with sweat as he tried harder to keep the spell going.

Samoht watched as both Tenshi and Benitora were working hard. Samoht spat on his hands, and patted them together.

"Need a hand?"

Samoht placed his hands out and began to help Benitora keep the baby up off the ground, hopefully making it easier to keep the baby up, and buying Tenshi more time.

"Stay back!" Tenshi snapped. He returned quickly to his chanting and clapping.

Benitora shifted his grip on the baby. He could have sworn it was getting heavier...

The veins on his arms bulged and he gritted his teeth as he tried to compensate for the baby's weight.

Samoht non-chalantly stepped away from the baby.

"Fine, have it your way."

(Tn 15 passed spectacularly. Still getting heavier.) Tenshi's brow beaded with sweat but he kept the spell going. The ghostly mother cried loudly.

The sweat beaded on Benitora's face, and he silently cursed Tenshi for chasing Samoht away. Nevertheless, he hung on with a grim set to his face. Others might have prayed to the kami, or drawn upon inner strength... but Benitora knew that any strength he had came entirely from his own will.

Tsubasa let Shizune take one of her spears and they practiced the basics. "No, your foot placement is wrong. If you thrust with your feet like that, you won't be able to step back if the enemy is able to counter attack. But it's not a bad stance if the enemy is pretty close."

(TN 20 passed)

The weight increased and finally the spirit of the baby departed from Benitora's hands leaving a large rock in his arms. The ghost baby joined his mother who embraced him and the two vanished.

It was then Benitora noticed the stone he was holding was made entirely of jade.

Samoht's eyes widened.

"That's a NICE stone you got there."
