There is a god.
Its official, God DOES exist.... for behold!!!!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/2207229.stm You heard it right... Final Fantasy for xbox. My dream come true:D |
Oh, HELL no. This is... a terrible portent. THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT IS COMING TO AN END!! GYAAAAAARGH! *Runs around in circles*
|
Ahhhh. To much stufff.
Wait. Why does god exist? |
The article never said that they would be Final Fantasy games though. The creater will just be working on 2 X-box games.
|
Cobra's right. Final Fantasy, and all its contents, are owned by Square Enix, which would mean that a FF game on the Xbox2 would involve Squeenix, and not just the guy who created the series. I don't think that he even works for them anymore.
Chalk this up to stupid, headline-whoring reporters, writers, and editors. |
Awww... I was hoping it would be an announcement for The Legend of Dragoon II: Hail to the King... well... I can always dream of that day...
Anyway, while this COULD end up getting me to buy a Microsoft console, it's not going to guarantee it for me. First, it'll really depent on what the games are that are being relased - they could still somehow turn out bad. Also, I'm very jaded when it comes to newer RPGs. I can only hope for the best. |
I think I have seen this conversation before. The X-Box will not recieve Final Fantasy because Square Enix owns the rights to it and has not signed a deal with Microsoft, and furthermore - Final Fantasy is largely designed for the Japanese market first - the X-Box sold abysmally in Japan...
|
all the more reason for XBOX to strike up a deal with square enix for the games. they would want to get a stronger market in Japan, wouldn't they?

And XBOX tried for a few years to get the Japanese crowd but failed miserably. Lately, they're whole take has been 'screw Japan, let's take over America and Europe'. And although they're not taking overthe American market, by focusing nearly all resources on America and Europe, they're doing much better. Especially now in Europe. |
Rant on my indulgent unhealthy love of Final Fantasy.
Hes not even the original creator of the FF series. Hes the guy who took over halfway through. I'll give a cookie to the guy who can name the original staff. Then I'll check with my FF1 Nes Cartridge copy.
Anyway, Square+X-Box=Death of Sony. Ok maybe thats an overstatement, but whoever gets Squaresoft working on their side gets a huge chunk of business. I buy systems with Final Fantasy on them first. So does a HUGE part of the American Gaming business. I got my systems in this order Nes-Snes-Playstation Then I went back and got a Genesis and a N64 because they were like $20 and I had cash to blow. Currently I'm just waiting for the next line of systems to come out and the newest FF. Basically my system buying order goes like this #1) Final Fantasy Owned copies of Nes-1, Snes-2a,3a, Ps-Tactics,7,8,9, Origins PC-1 through 6 and legends all on emulators, and a demo of 8. Estimated time spent playing the Final Fantasy Series 2,500hr's. 250 on ONE game of Tactics, an Average of 40Hrs in FF1 beat about 25ish times, FF4-5x, FF5-2x, FF6-3x, beat FF8 thrice over 200hrs total, and FF9 twice. I can't even begin to think of the insane amount of time I've spent on guides and reading about the damage calculations, team strategy, character buildups, etc. #2) Competitive group gaming like Mk, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Tony Hawk, and Halo. #3) Various other RPG's like Legend of Dragoon, Zelda, and GTA. #4) Misc fast paced games like Mario series, StarFox, Donkey Kong, Sonic, Double Dragon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series for the Nes, NBA Jam, NBA Hangtime, So sad Square doesnt treat us equally with their Japanese market, we love them. FF Rant turns into Gaming Rant at this point. Notice: This doesnt count the computer gaming, which is my forte. I've played Age of Empires 2 at LEAST as much as I have ALL of my Final Fantasy gaming combined. I also enjoy playing Pop3:Tb, Sims, SimCity series, and the Red Alert Series. That doesnt even begin to cover my childhood gaming with classics like Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Street Rod, Battle Chess, Scorched Earth (I found this one online its kickass fun little tanks shooting each other with badass weaponry), NukeWar, Oregon Trail, Offroad, LodeRunner, Space Empires III, and of course Pacman. Then theres also all the online gaming which is what I'm currently into. I have like 50k games in of Yahoo! Towers. This game is extremely deep and VERY fast. Its like 8 player with teams of two Battle Tetris. Lotta fun features in this one, mostly played by high school to college students. The chats are NOT G-rated, hell most of the time they arent R-rated. Ok I'm all gamer ranted out. End Post. |
