Naruto Questions

This thread is for any and all of your naruto-related questions. One question i have is about Kakashi (i think thats how you spell it,) the instructor. He only has one sharingan, and it is always up. Furthermore, he has 3 dot thingies on his. Sasuke has a sharingan in both eye which only come up when he is angered, or something like that, and has 1 dot in one eye, and 2 dots in the other. Care to explain anyone?

Viper Daimao 12-21-2003 12:49 PM

my guess is that Sasuke only has 2 dots because he's not mastered the ability yet, while kakashi has. as for why kakashi only has one, its been hinted at, but still its anyones guess. my guess is that he took someone elses eye and implanted onto himself. thus since he is not of the uchiha blood, he cant control it perfectly and therefore is always on, and using it for too long will exhaust him (thus why he covers it)

Dante 12-21-2003 04:29 PM

I dunno about mastering it, but when Sasuke's older brother Itachi shows up (the guy he wants to kill), he has three-dot Sharingan on both sides, and he plays with Kakashi like a dog with a chew toy.

Maybe Kakashi just covered it up... because Kishimoto didn't want to give the Sharingan away too soon?

Sesshomaru 12-21-2003 07:31 PM

Kakashi's covered eye has a speical ability which allows him to see what his opponent is going to do before he does it

it has a very draining effect so he doesn't do it all that often

He doesn't predict the future... he actually makes the opponent finish the seals for the move through Sharingan hypnosis, then completes the mvoe on his own, makingthe opponent think Kakahi can read minds.

Combined with Chidori he is almost unstoppable.

AndyBloodredMage 12-22-2003 03:21 PM

Wait i forget, what is Chidori?

Dante 12-23-2003 02:43 AM

The move where Kakashi concentrates chakra into his hand until streaks of lightning come off it, then dashes into his opponent and stabs them with the hand. It must be used in conjunction with the Sharingan, otherwise the user cannot react effectively to threats and obstacle in his way. A Chidori-enhanced strike can gouge 1 meter deep holes in solid rock.

Also known as Raikiri (lightning cutter)

I have a question about Naruto.

What is up with the eyebrows on Rock Lee? Where can I get some of those? I mean, I have fairly respectable eyebrows myself but he's a god amongst eyebrow mortals.

Bruce Lee ripoffs will live forever. :D

Dante 12-23-2003 04:36 AM

Spike is cool too...

Zethos 12-23-2003 06:05 PM

Trust me, you don't want Lee's eyebrows. I've seen many a cosplayer attempt to pull it off, and the few that succeeded have never been the same again. O__o

Dante 12-23-2003 07:09 PM

How hard can doing Lee's eyebrows be? Just glue a piece of black construction paper onto your eyebrows and be done with it.

Imagine if someone tried Gai's eyebrows...

(For the record I am a big fan of Gai)

AndyBloodredMage 03-27-2004 05:21 PM

I like naruto the best. His shannigans are most humerous. Sasuke is a bit of an egotistical jackass.

Sakae 03-28-2004 10:19 PM

Rock Lee is definitely my favorite. For those of you who don't follow the manga series, I won't spoil it for you, but you haven't seen the last of Lee. Oh no. Just you wait...

AndyBloodredMage 03-29-2004 06:30 AM

True, but you can't forget the giant frog. I mean, jesus, it's as big as the hydra that's attacking Leaf (anime.)

Dante 03-29-2004 07:00 AM

Ph34r the power of Tsunade and Jiraiya. And there is one skill which beats out Raikiri in terms of sheer power... but you'll find that out later. Naruto learns it, though.

Kakkarot72 03-29-2004 11:01 AM

I'm a big Naruto fan and I know quite a bit about it... Oh and about Kakashi's eye. He stole that eye, that is why he has that big scar on his eye. Sasuke only has 2 dots due to not being old enough or trained =/ Rock Lee does own... :) Now even more than ever

rightwhatwasidoing? 03-29-2004 03:28 PM

I have a question

Okay, i read one short thing of Naruto once, and i thought it was great. My question is, is it in anime yet, and if it is, where can i find it? I live in NY, on Long Island, btw.

AndyBloodredMage 03-29-2004 04:06 PM

Yes it is in anime form. Goto http://narutofan.com/index.php/conte...imedia,torrent and download the bulk files of 10. They're big downloads, but worthwhile.

rightwhatwasidoing? 03-29-2004 04:27 PM

thanks, but my dad has a SERIOUS thing with downloading stuff. is there a place any of you guys know where I can just go out and buy them. It doesn't matter to me whether manga or anime, either is fine.

AndyBloodredMage 03-29-2004 04:29 PM

I don't believe they sell the Naruto anime. I know they include Naruto manga in Jump, but again, I don't know if the manga is available in the US.

Sakae 03-30-2004 12:44 AM

Just wait until the end of summer, when Naruto gets licensed for release in america. Chances are that we'll be seeing dubbed episodes on cartoon network by 2005.

Viper Daimao 03-30-2004 01:00 AM

really? i know its not even finished in japan yet. airs on wednesday, usually subbed by friday. I keep up with both the anime and the mange at www.narutochaos.com
they require you to register, but its free, and you can download either from them or use bit torrent

GatoFiero 03-30-2004 02:05 AM

Jiraiya is da pimp.

goldjas1 04-01-2004 02:01 AM

If you want to watch Naruto you have to download it. You might be able to buy some illegal HK subs off of Ebay, but those cost money, are more illegal then downloading an unlicensed anime (from what I hear anyway), and the subs are unreadably horrible from my experience.
That being said, yes Naruto does rock.
If the anime ever does get licensed, you probably won't see it at all until 2005 or 2006 (they still haven't translated Gundam Seed yet...yeesh)and its on episode 76 without being licensed...

Aw, poor mortals, we already have Naruto DVDs in Singapore... :p

For some bizarre and obscure reason the anime seems much better than the Manga. Probably because Kishimoto tries to convey lots of action and it gets a bit too confusing to my dinosaur brain (gronk) at times.

However, the manga is MUCH more advanced than the anime story-wise ( SPOILER ALERT: In case you didn't know, Sasuke's brother shows up and kicks Kakashi's ass six ways to Sunday without even laying a finger on him, only to be driven off by Gai. END SPOILER)

You don't have to buy any subs for naruto. All the epsiodes are subed for free by ANBU 'n company. All you need is Bit Torrent. Here's the site, http://anbudom.net/
*goes to the site* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! The department of justice got to 'em!

Ah well, their subs are still stored here, http://www.animesuki.com/group.php/5.html

and here's a complete naruto fan sub list, http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/3.html

Immortal Macleod 04-01-2004 06:49 PM

yay naruto. I was wondering until I got my last issue of shonen jump and naruto manga how sasuke could possibly be dead so early in the series.

...what? But it's legal to do what they're doing. Naruto isn't licensed yet (thank GOD. Why do some of you people insist on wanting to blow piles of cash when you can get this stuff for free legally??)

Anyway, it's a good series. I just started downloading the manga and haven't read any yet, but I've got a few problems with the anime. Well, one problem anyway. The fights take too long. It's painful to watch episode after episode after episode after episode after etc about ONE fight. I feel like my brain slows to a crawl when watching it because it takes so long for stuff to happen.

Everything else is good though. I like the story.

AndyBloodredMage 04-08-2004 10:00 PM

The fight scenes at times tend to scream of dbz, at least when nothing is happening. At least on Naruto you have cool and new attacks for most of the characters.

No, they got in trouble for their april fools joke. Impersonating a goverenment agency or something. They got fined 500 dollars and have to do public service last i checked.

AndyBloodredMage 04-08-2004 10:12 PM

I thought they said 1000?

Dante 04-09-2004 12:25 AM

If you think naruto is bad, wait till you see Slam Dunk. Did you know that they can stretch 3 minutes of a match over 5 episodes?

MY2K 04-09-2004 01:44 AM

ah, Naruto. Manga = fucking awesome. The anime does it no justice...:(

Dante 04-09-2004 02:07 AM

Lies, lies! The anime is good too... just that it's too slow.

AndyBloodredMage 04-09-2004 11:20 AM

In my opinion, you just can't do a fight scene in manga form.

Dante 04-09-2004 11:33 AM

That is your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but I favor leaving it to the imagination.

Not that the anime fight sequences are bad, of course.

Naruto won't be liscensed until One Peace is.

Minor Dizaster 04-24-2004 01:09 PM

This is kinda stupid, but does anyone know why everyone's nose bleeds when Naruto uses Sexy no jutsu?

I asked a friend of mine this myself once, and he said it was something to do with a Japanese cultural belief/superstition that men get bloody noses when they're aroused in such a way. Or something along those lines, someone else may know something more.

Gav 05-06-2004 04:31 PM

I had no idea what naruto was until I went to my last convention and EVERY OTHER cosplayer was someone from naruto.... mostly the same character.. Anyways now I am sooo excited about it cause it must be good if so many people are into it.

As for getting it, I hate watching downloaded movies on my computer I perfer to get a dvd version and watch it on a TV.

And I live by Hong Kong bootlegs so don't knock um ^_^

The subbing is good, nice packaging, pretty good quality and they are so dirt cheap I have no problem paying for them.

About them being more illegal then downloading... well from what I have learned of bussiness from my HK born boss, if anyones gonna get in trouble its the people who import them and sell them not the end user, and since the people who sell them don't advertise them as HK bootlegs the end user really has no idea unless they have bought them before.

You can even get series that are already licened in the US. since I don't watch my anime on a hdtv surround system dolby digital setup, the little drop in quality compared to paying 100+ dollars more for the originals don't excite me.
