What's your Favourite Race?

Ok, someone on another thread suggested a poll should be made about this, so I decided to take the initiative.

What is your favourite (D&D) player character race?
I included all from the PHB plus some others I thought deserved a mention.

I voted Elves (of course), because of their long-lives, skills with magic, bows and swords, their affinity with nature and their CG alignment (like me!).

Happy Voting!

I have always been a fan of humans. They can do anything... from valorous hero to dastardly villain. Also, I despise arrogant elven bastards. No offense, MZ.

Don't worry, I'm so arrogant that nothing you puny human can say will affect me... much. In my mind, 'versatile' reads as 'un-original'.

Faeries. Definately... there's something amusing about a faerie kicking ass... and they can kick a good amount normally if you go down the magical road.

Incidentally, how is versatile unoriginal? If a race can take every role, how does it make them original? In fact, the demihumans tend to be more unoriginal than humans, being that they are commonly stereotyped, e.g. elf wizard, dwarven warrior, orcish berserker, halfling rogue, gnomish inventor/illusionist, etc.

Of course, that makes playing an "against-type" character from a demihuman race interesting.

I have nothing against elves, actually. In fact< I'd have actually have put them as my favorite, except for the fact that elves have pointy ears, which a lot of people (especially artists) love to exaggerate. Still, there is no denying that elven grace and lifespan is good, as are elven maids. I mean, being haughty is one thing, but being a hottie...well, can't argue with that, can I?

I voted dwarves, after my infamous flying dwarf. (Two waraxes + missing a lot = flying!)

Halfling. They can have gnome mounts if I bug the DM into it.

Humans.

Long lives are great, but hey, are we really going to live as long as our character is supposed to? Besides, I like versatility, in both abilities and roles.

Anyway, doesn't Sosa support humans as well?

I would have said myconid, but no one ever lets me play as them.
