THE Final Fantasy IV
After a restful night, everyone gets ready for the trip to Sector 2. "Cloud mentioned that there used to be a train system, so perhaps if those tunnels are still intact, perhaps we could use those to get to where we need to go." Celes said, thinking. "Sound like a plan?"
|
"Yeah, that'd probably be the best route to take, Celes," Cloud said, leaning back in the chair. They had gotten breakfast at the eatery, Cloud's treat. "It shouldn't be a very long climb up, and the reactor will be in plain sight once we get up there. As always, I'm ready whenever."

**The night before**
Palom had gone directly to sleep, and then dreamed... Something flowed around him, something green and vibrant with life, humming with energy. He could sense it replenishing his mana supply, much as rest in Mysidia allowed him to replenish his innate store of magic, cultivating the power of his mind and soul to produce and store power. But this felt different. Whatever it was, it lived, it was sentient. Its breath was the rustling of tall trees in the wind, its gaze peering at itself through thousands upon thousands of eyes. It was life embodied, even to those who were immigrants to this world, with no intention of a permanent stay. Faces appeared in the living current, human and animal, insect and monster, whirling past in an endless cycle of life, death, and rebirth...life energy ebbing and flowing like a tide. By itself, it would have fascinated many. White Mages would undoubtedly have drawn entire religions from this experience, and spent their lives in study and preservation of it. Palom just accepted it, and looked deeper, seeking information... He saw a silver-haired man encased in crystal, a mutant mutating far beyond its beginnings. He saw a girl with the blood of an ancient race...her face smiling at him from within the current. He saw how Materia was created. Unbidden, a name crept into his mind. Lifestream. **the next morning, present time** "All of my energy is recovered." Palom shrugged, "Anything that needs blasting, I can blast." |
Rydia memorized the location of the inn, had returned the previous night before and retrieved her clothing and whip. Now back in her more practical clothes and armed with a weapon she was truely skilled with, Rydia had joined the others, looking fresh and having a weird expression on her face.
"It was simply a bizarre dream and let's leave it at that." Rydia said as she warmed up to the morning with the tea. |
"...I had strange dreams too." Palom smiled a little, "For a genius, I seem to be going a little crazy."
Looking in Rydia's direction, "Mind pouring me some of that tea?" |
(OOC) AB, we're going to be leaving.
Celes climbs into the truck, her sword laying on her lap. "Well, let's get moving." |
"No time for tea, you two, we need to get going." Cloud got into the driver's seat of the blue truck. "Hey Tif! C'mon, let's get going!"
|
"Hmph...easy enough for you warriors, but we mages are used to a certain level of civilization, you big dummies." Palom turned up his nose at them, his hat on the seat next to him, his expression one of pure, comical snootiness.
|
Cloud produced a half grin. He was startin' to like this kid, he had a decent sense of humor. "Yeah, yeah, whatever," Cloud said, still grinning for a moment longer before his face became serious again. "Seriously, though, we do need to get going. We've got a city to save here!"
Cloud had decided to say no more than that. He recalled the last time he had saved the world, there had been a spy among those he considered friends. There could be informants for whatever this dark power was among the people of this town, for all he knew. |
OOC: I have been gone for a while, lets say Cecil just followed, ok?
IC: "I agree with Cloud, this Zolom cant be allowed to hurt any of the people who live here, they seem to alredy have gone through a lot of hardship and I will do what I can to prevent further suffering." Cecil said after comming out of the Inn. |
