Cloud was staring in disbelief at the person next to the Zolom. How was he still alive? Cloud and the others had defeated him long ago...
Cloud regained his composure and got out of the truck, as did Tifa. "I thought you were dead, Hojo," Cloud said coldly. |
"What is going on? Who is that guy?" Cecil asked in confusion, standing next to the truck.
|
With his trademark chuckle, Hojo said "Ah, but it was the gift of the Jenovia cells that let me live. Yes, you did injure me greatly, and it took much of the strength from me, however I found that with all plans, it is always best to have a back up plan. This Zolom was just a test of injecting a modified set of Jenovia cells. And the results were quite impressive. I have since injected myself with these new J2 cells, and with it, I have discovered a greater power. I can control those infected with these cells, and I plan on creating a force so powerful that a new, greater WEAPON will appear, and once it appears, I will inject the J2 cells into it and control it, and I will use it to take over the world!"
|
"Jenova? Cloud, this is why you should tell us these things!" Palom shook his head, groaning at the warrior's reticence to reveal information.
"Of course, there are two glaring flaws in your plan, Doctor Hojo..." the Black Wizard continued, a slight, rather saucy smirk appearing on his face. |
"Oh really little boy? What are they then?" Hojo taunted from his cliff, his eyes locked onto his.
|
Rydia decided to step in on this one. "One, we already defeated a horribly insane guy like you named Doctor Lugae so I think we can do it again. Second is LEVIATHAN!!"
Suddenly, a large orb of water grew right in midair and a tendril spilled outward from the underside of it. As the tentacle lengthened and expanded outward, you could just barely make out the formation of fins. The tip of the tentacle formed the head of some terrible beast. Eventually, the beast was revealed before all. The howl of fury was powerful, distorting the air and you could faintly detect the sounds of the ocean within the roar. Leviathan lowered its coiling from to the ground, aligning itself with the truck. Rydia shrugged. "I wanted to use him to help clean me off, but making weirdos go away is probably the better thing to do." |
Cecil turned to Rydia. "Dont you think summoning Leviathan might be a little uneccesary right now?" He asked
|
Rydia shrugged, not even looking at Cecil. "We're still waiting for a better idea to come out of you on this issue, your Majesty."
|
"Well, actually...the flaws are that you told us your plans, possibly out of some insecurity that gives you a need to boast, and secondly that you're injecting creatures with the same cells you use to control them. If you were to inject something more powerful than yourself, how will you keep control of it? It might very well just take control of you, instead."
"Oh, and don't call me 'little boy'." Palom snapped his fingers, sparks of electricity dancing over the palm of his hand, the very air seeming to crackle and fizz with the gathering charge. |
Hojo laughed and said "I have already taken that possablity into account." And with that he opened his eyes fully, revealing a glow. "Cloud, his eyes are like yours...." Celes said, sounding a bit surprised.
|
"Clod, you got a lot of explaining to do..." Palom remarked, holding the electricity dormant, so that it did nothing but buzz and snap in the air.
|
Cloud stayed cold. "So you took a mako bath as well? What, are you trying to make yourself more like your late son? You know what happened to him, he went insane and tried to use Meteor to destroy the planet, and become its God! Are you trying to do that, Hojo?"
His unwavering gaze never left Hojo's eyes. |
"Son? Mako? God?" Palom felt an impending headache coming on...then, something from his dream surfaced in his mind. A silver-haired man clad in black, permeated to the core by something dark and inhuman, yet bathed in the green light from other parts of the dream.
'The magic...I'm drawing power, this must be another effect.' clearing his mind of those thoughs, the Mysidian Wizard let other images flow into his mind...a demonic creature followed by a multiwinged angel, both different aspects of the same being, and a spell of awesome, titanic power...conjuring a vast rock glowing with power, hurtling towards the planet as though it had been fired from the slingshot of a god. Then, the images ended. Palom still felt confused, but, 'At least I can guess what Meteor was...' |
Hojo laughed and said "No...Instead I mearly want to see those who caused his plans wreaked to suffer. And since the planet itself did so, I want to see it suffer as well."
|
"Wouldn't destroying the planet kill you too? Your son doesn't sound like he cared much about you." Palom skeptically remarked.
|
"Cant say I dont agree on that Palom" Cecil said while trying to undrestand all that was being said here.
|
Hojo gave a deraranged smile and said "Sephiroth never knew I was his father. In fact, he always thought Jenovia was his mother. He was my greatest success...." "You're mad..." Celes said, her hand on her sword, ready to draw it out.
|
"You're damn right he's mad, Celes," Cloud said, his sword now drawn and at the ready. "And I'm guessing that he's also not too happy about the fact that we killed his 'little pet' here, are you Hojo?"
Tifa cracked her knuckles, looking up at Hojo derisively. "Why don't you come down here so we can 'talk', Hojo?" |
Hojo laughed and said "Fine then. You will be the first to see my newfound power!" And with that, he started to change, growing larger....morphing into a Jenovia alien.
