Ah, that would work. I didn't get your meaning the first time. Survival skill, very important, yes.

PS: Sorry about that! :(

Zweihander 03-24-2005 05:19 PM

Goddamnit, I just went and started changing it too. Grrr.

Due to Olive Garden and then filling out the damnable forms for my new job, I probably won't have the first draft up until later tonight. But be patient, good things come to those who wait.

Funka Genocide 03-24-2005 09:27 PM

thank you Zwei, for making me look punctual. :)

I guess since we haven't started yet I'll make some tweaks to my character, maybe...

or maybe I won't! yeah!

I am bored, sorry.

So Dante, hows about some background story for the setting, eh?

Where are we going to start out, whats the political nature of the region, how did we allmeet? Have we allmet already? Do monkeys make a good sandwich spread?

these are things we need to know right now!

<_< >_>

what?

Actually I made a slight change in my charms and character concept.

Finally, what you've all been waiting for!

Well, probably not. But in any case, there's a few things I need help with.
1. I can't think of a good name or title.
2. I've got 3 bonus points left over, and have no idea what to spend them on.
3. That big section, COMBAT? Yeah, no clue there.
4. Anything else that seems off, mention it to me. I'm new at this, and would like a chance to learn instead of being told "this is how it's done."

Barring that, the concept is rather nice, I would think. One of the village youth trained to eventually replace the village's leader / medicine man, since they are often the same thing. Tends to excel more at guiding his people and friends through the surrounding wilderness. Finds a decrepit manse out in the forest, and makes it a home away from home. During a bandit raid on the village, his true power is unleashed. Now knowing that he needs to reclaim the prosperity of the First Age, he gathers what he can and leaves to search out his brethren, and guide them to change the world.

Well, Zwei, this is how it's done.

:p

1) You can give yourself a name in the pattern of <adjective> <noun>. Like Daring Flame, or Silent Wolf, or Sadomasochistic Rapist. You can also call yourself any name that isn't too strongly aligned to other RPG settings. So Tarathiel, Entreri (though Artemis isn't bad) and Beryllinthranox are not kosher. Anyone who plays a Southerner called Drizzt will be killed in creative ways. :p

2) Right. You have bonus points? Bump up your highest or second-highest Virtue. It gives you a bit more Essence, more Willpower and that Virtue can be channelled more often for more bonus dice.

3) Combat is your combat statistics. It is the summary of what your regular attacks can do. For example, assume I were playing the deathknight Excessively Supercilious Hound Of Feminine Persuasion (AKA Evil Bitch), and I have a

Strength 5
Dexterity 5
Wits 5
Melee 5 with Specialty 3 (Swords)

and a soulsteel grand daiklaive.

I would thus have a

Speed 7 (Dex 5 + Wits 5 Speed -3)
Accuracy 16 (Dex 5 Melee 5 Specialty 3 Soulsteel Grand Daiklaive Accuracy Bonus 3)
Damage 16L (Strength 5 + Soulsteel Grand Daiklaive 11L)
Defense 13 (Dex 5 Melee 5 Specialty 3 Soulsteel Grand Daiklaive Defense Bonus +0)

Speed determines your initiative. More means you go faster.
Accuracy determines your dice pool to hit your opponent. More is obviously better.
Damage determines how much damage you do, before soak, if your attacks penetrate your opponent's defenses.
Defense is how many dice you can roll for your parry if you use your weapon to defend.

Ask me if you have any problems.

Zweihander 03-25-2005 03:35 PM

Okay, that explains it a bit. Looking at Phoenix's sheet, she's got some more stuff after her weapons, though.

Quote:

General
Dodge Pool 13

Soak Bashing Lethal Aggravated
Base 3 1 0
Orich BP 6 8 8
Total: [9 9 8]

Movement Base
Tactical 8
Run 17
Sprint 35
Leap (V) 6
Leap (H) 12
I understand the Soak part, especially since I don't have any actual armor. But I'm curious as to the Dodge pool and the Movement things.

PhoenixFlame 03-25-2005 06:02 PM

Dodge Pool is my Dex + Dodge + Specialty In Dodge while armored.

This is my dice to dodge whenever I either opt to dodge, use Shadow over Water, or any agaisnt incoming attack while under Flow like Blood.

Movement is calculated like...
Tactical (Move and Action) Dex + 12 Divided by 2.
Run (Move Only) Dex + 12
Sprint (Move Only, Possible Fatigue) 3xDex + 12

Vertical Jump is Str + Athletics
Horizontal Jump is Vertical x2

Okay, thanks. So, here's a more better sheet, with all that info included. Now I just gotta flesh out the bio and personality...

Dante 03-28-2005 09:54 PM

This thing isn't dead yet! Once Zwei finishesm we can start!
