Does anyone else remember Roughnecks STC?
 

Personally, I though that show was pretty dang good. Although I'm sure if it qualifies as animation (its CGI). So my question is, does anyone else remember that show? Does anyone else also think that it was awesome?

Indeed, I remember this show. I thought it was pretty good. From what I could tell, it was based on the movie, but it tried to stay more true to the books, such as having the power armor and the skinnies and such.

I know they released parts of it on DVD and such. I've seen a few at a local used DVD story around here.

I remember the show, and I have seen the DVDs in stores (Borders carries them I think), but I didn't see that many episodes. Still, from what I saw I thought it was very good.

I heard the show's creators were working on a Mechwarrior Animated Series (CGI), but that never surfaced. Damn shame...

I just got mine off kazaa (but all the files are ~60 MB, which means the quality is in the gutter). Also, it is based on the novel, not the movie.

PS I would have liked to see that Mechwarrior show...darn.

There was a Battletech cartoon on waaaayyy back in the day. I remember it...kind of.

Yeah I vaguely remeber that show has well. If I remeber, it was also pretty good.

I always used to watch Roughnecks before school. All I remember about it is that I liked the animation style mixed with narration.

It's just too bad that the sequel to the movie sucked.
Any hopes for a new series is gone.

Yes, the original Battletech cartoon in the early 90s was a mix of normal cel animation (that I don't recall being anime-styled...could be wrong since I only saw one or two eps.) and 3D CGI animation for the mech fights.

There was talks of a new Mechwarrior CGI cartoon that was going to be done by the same people that did Roughnecks, but as I said I do not believe this is still in development, since the last I ever heard of it was about a year ago.

Anyways, back to the real matter at hand.

Yes, Starship Troopers 2 was terrible...it was like watching a bad version of laser tag, what with the light-up guns and all. So that's pretty much wrecked any Starship Troopers franchise.
