Fricken Goldmine

Alright, so last night, in between blowing up things with some fireworks that me and my friends got from pigeon forge the night before, we stopped at rite aid, and walking up and down the eiles, and I notice a fricken VHS from the past.....the legend of zelda. hells yeah.

I mean, damn, this show sucks, but brings back so many memories. Fricken awesome. the thing was $5, and I got to hear that really really bad theme song from the end of the super mario bros show, DO THE MARIO, yeah you know you remember that.

And it had a preview for the crappy crappy sonic underground which has the worst theme song ever in history, which I will now make my theme song because it's so bad it rocks. "I've made a vow, now my beverage must be found, Lucerin Reds Underground!!!!"

This VHS I found featured 3 episodes, one was where Zelda had a magic festival to test the skills of the wizard and ganon showed up and created trouble. then the next was where it was spring cleaning and link faked being sick so he didn't have to clean and then ganon used the mops and buckets to attack everyone, and the last one was where the white knight came and zelda fell for him until he wouldn't save her due to her being in mud and he would get his clothes dirty.

Sigh, what a great time to look back and reminisce, anybody else remember this shit.

I remember that show. Didn't Link almost always say, "Well, excuuuuse me, Princess!" in every episode? (Or am I thinking of Spaceballs?) It's so bad, it's good. My favorite character was the fairy. She was a little bitch.

That's exactly right. The episode I remember most was the time link 'died', and he ended up in the monster vat and had to steal a bomb from a stalfos.

"Gimme a bomb, bonehead. Nnnnnnnnoooooow."

I have a simple policy for Stalfos. Kill them till they die...again. That, and Hookshot + Jump Attack = Pile 'o Bones.

This show sounds stupid, but I'd watch it. Just seeing Ganon attack people with brooms and mops would make my day.

Did Link ever manage to kill/imprison/escape from Navi?

Ah, nostalgia. I remember the Super Mario Brothers Super Show, but not so much of Zelda. I know I've seen it, I just can't remember anything specific. There is a Rite Aid right across the street, maybe I'll see if they have it too...

I think I only ever saw one episode of that. I remember watching SMBSS Monday-Thursday at my grandparents' house and always missing Zelda on Friday mornings.

*has all 13 episodes downloaded*

I need to get around to watching these again.

"Well excuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess!"

On another note, I have all of season 2 of Captain N: The Game Master, and am working on season 3.

Me = collossal dork.

It predates the creation of Navi by about a decade. This show came out in the late 80s.

True, but I recall reading a Zelda comic from the same era that had a pesky little fairy following Link around. Was that just a one-time thing, or a regular that was perhaps a foreshadowing of things to come?

That fairy was called Sprite in the TV show, dunno about the comics.

Seem's like Sprite's purpose in life is to prevent Link from getting laid.

On another note, as I'm watching these cartoons, I notice three things:
1) Link's tunic is pretty much a bag of holding.
2) All weapons function by firing beams of energy. Even bows, which shoot the beams instead of arrows. Also, bombs don't really explode, they just kill anything they're touching.
3) The Triforce of Wisdom is blue in the show itself, but green in the intro. Also, there are only two Triforces, apparently.

EDIT: Trying to watch some Captain N now and... I'm sorry, I can't go on. Megaman being a fugly chain-smoker, Kid Icarus adding "icus" to random words... and then... and then...

At least the characters know something's not right. Eggplantman's expression says it all.
