Full Metal Alchemist (III)
I have to admit, when this series started, I had no idea it would get as deep and involving as it had. Every week, I can hardly wait for the next weekly installment. It's getting into some real philisophical issues, and I just can't get enough of it.
So, what is everyone else's thoughts on the developments of the recent weeks? Oh, and by the by, Viz is slated to start releasing the Full Metal Alchemist mangas stateside in May, so there's another thing to look forward to. |
I'm glad they brought back Barry the Chopper. He had some great lines in yesterday's episode. Oh! and the lady who voices Al is getting much better. The line, "Why do I get the crazy one?" was actually well delivered. T'was funny, funny like it was supposed to be. This has been very good for her, definately. Other than that, yeah, neat twists and all that.
But #66! How can anyone not love him?! "Do you know how terrifying I am?" Funny stuff. Edit: Oopsie, oopsie, oopsie! Al isn't voiced by a lady, he's voiced by a guy named Aaron Dismuke. What a mistake. Ah well, it's not my first and it won't be my last. |
what episode is CN on now. I haven't been keeping up with it after I finished downloading the series.
but barry the chopper, him as the suit of armor was great. I love their fight. it was hilarious (sp). the secret of the stone get very interesting after scar turns semi good/dies . <--- 1 of my fav. parts and AL is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than Ed I mean he is a freakin' suit of armor. how can you pwn that. |
One thing I didn't really get in the subbed version, is it a woman who does the voice for Al (it sounds like it)?
|
What's funny about the fight with Ed and the Slasher brothers is that the older one wasn't doing any of the fighting at all, probably. The younger one was directly in the body of the armor, so he was probably doing the swordplay.
But anyway, I also enjoy the deep discussion that permeates throughout the series. sasuto: the way you pwn a suit of armor is you do a partial transmutation that destroys the metal, like Ed did vs the Slasher brothers. Can't do it on humans cuz they're made of too many different materials. |
Actually you can because that's how Scar does in the human chimera and most of his victims. It's just a little bit harder to do it.
|
And you never know about the other slasher bro. not doing the fighting. When he's on the armor, he might be in control (or at least both of them are sharing control) Its entirely possible if the seal could be on the head, and him still control the body when his head is on it. Which is probably possible since Ed wouldn't have been tricked if it weren't.

i figured that alchemy was cool and every thing, but acording to #66, one can use it to fabricate memorys!!? wow, thats pretty cool. i think thated be puting way to much credit on younger ed, i mean he may have been good, but i think it would take a VERY experienced alchemist to do something like that...
|
Al was a moron for buying into the, "Your memories aren't real" thing. Lets assume you can do that. Then what about the pictures and other people that knew Al. Plus if that was true couldn't the same be said for 66 and 24 (or whatever the number)
I loved the episode though. He goes on about the, "I am a living suit of armor. You should be terrorfied." While Al takes of his helmet and it takes the guy a full minute for it to register. |
