The Millers: Take your kids to work day.
 

Harry Miller was in a rush this morning he hit the bathroom at 5 in the morning and was putting on his tie at the breakfast table and attempting to tie his tie around his neck. His white lab coat was slung over the chair. He drank his coffee and then ran upstairs to brush his teeth.

Cassandra, still half asleep, sumbled downstairs. She was wearing black torn jeans with a chain belt and chains all over it, a black Perfect Circle tank top, and of course her black boots. Cradled under her arm was her medic uniform that she would put on when she got to work. Slumping down in her chair, she drank a cup of coffee and began to wake up.

Kerry was walking on his hands and took a plate of everything that was on the table. He then went to the chimney and disappeared.

[I have a knack for that, huh?]

Harry shook his head. "I'm off to work honey." Harry announced. He opened his front door.

Joanna was busy cleaning up the kitchen. She turned to say goodbye to her husband, but stopped short, "Wait. Where are the kids?" She asked him. Her husband couldn't have forgotten about "take your kid to work" day, could he have?

"oh right the kids." Harry said. "Ash! Steve! You have ten minutes!"

"Ten what?" Steve said lazily in his chair at the table. He probably wasn't noticed due to the fact he fell asleep and slumped under the table.

"ten minutes to get ready or I leave you behind."

Jeanette woke to her alarm, always set for this time in the morning. She quickly leapt out of bed and looked out the window. She smiled. No wrecked cars. No people screaming and bleeding. No sirens. No walking corpses out in the middle of the road.

"The invasion hasn't come yet. I still have more time."

Jeanette checked the calender. The words "Take Your Kids To Work Day" was written for the current date. She sighed.

"Well, I could use a day off from my projects. Who knows? Dad might not embarrass me this time...as if that's possible."

Jack came out to the kitchen, still in his bathrobe. "Whats all this racket about? Where are you young'ns going?"
