"This is was the darkened items won't appear." Perhaps one of the worst translations of a sentence in video game history. Then again, maybe not.

Here, in this thread, the one that you are now reading, as opposed to the one you were reading (and we all know what that one was, you dirty person you), post some of your favorite horrible video game translations, verbal blunders, and general lingual oddity. Perhaps we could also discuss the jollity and confusion that they have caused.

For those of you who don't know, the line I chose came from Final Fantasy Tactics, a notoriously badly translated game. The line came from the tutorial, which is particularly badly translated. Much fun!

"All your base are belong to us."

I win!!

Okay, the obviousness of using Zero Wing aside, I'd have to say that these are a few interesting mistranslations...

"You have losted/woned." ~Vantage Master Online

"Help us improve avatar's ability!" ~Gunbound

"Last Alert" has to have one of the worst translations - or rather, the voices are so over the top that the bad lines just sound worse.

"Garcia, nobody can hire my feelings!"

That sega game was the best one I knew...I would say that Japan um...Pokemon games are short to the point I guess while USA ones tend to talk longer…dose that count? They don’t translate they just butcher and re make… Like all of the little creepy monsters names was changed...thats all I know...sorry XD

What the net is a Chinchilla...and reading that it sounds something like Jacky Chan would say when he hardly knew english...so its japan speech XD that we wont under stand.

Did I think of an other one? Well Gotcha Force the voice acters do use some Japan words like San/Chan I think...mmm *shrugs*

A chinchilla is a small furry rodent, rather akin to a hamster or gerbil...

It seriously sounds like the translation was done by high school kids using Babelfish.

For example, the final words of the boss on the first level is "It's idiot power!"
