Is Domon Studios Dumb

I need to know once and for all what other people think of the name "Domon Studios". Because im am about to go the whole nine yards on this name, EX: titles, headers, URL, ect.
My friend says that It is a stupid name and people will stay away from us if I use it. I on the other hand think that it is a good and fitting name.

well i guess ill start by explaining where the name Domon comes from and how i came about using it as if it were my own. OK it is true that Domon is the main charecter from G Gundam but the first place i ever saw Domon was in a little comic at the end of a gundam wing graphic novel. (if you will please click the links and see examples of both domons) I would try and find more Domon comics but i dont go to the comic book store as much as i should. Yes i know its a crime but please put down the torches.
In G Gundam Domon is the generic hero guy who tries to beat the bad guys blah blah. But my Domon is lazy, gluttonous, and completely oblivious to womens advances. He feeds almost exclusively on Cup Noodle. I could swear he was a clone of me. After a while the name stuck and ive been using it for a few years now.
I am learing to become a programmer so If I use Domon Studios it will be the name I copyright my programs under. I need to make sure that people dont hate the name before it becomes perminant. Well what do the people think?

Perhaps it'd be better to come up with something that's completely unassociated with something that's already been done. Unless, of course, you're making programs based around the Gundam universe, I would think it'd be best to have something completely unique. You don't want people to prejudge your work. Or rather, you want them to prejudge it positively. Domon Studios is ... well, it's what Shiney's going to say in the post after mine.

In addition, to be honest, nothing about the name Domon strikes me as interesting. It's a rather unimpressive name, doesn't command, or even meekly request my attention.

great! well then im off to the name that all my friends have voted for and that is Studio 1337. its original and it works for what we're making. not what I am making but what we are making. if that makes any sense.

shiney 04-08-2005 10:30 AM

Hah, Studio Thirteen Thirty-Seven! That's how I envision it. Seems like a play on the whole leet gig.

Domon 04-08-2005 10:36 AM

Do I detect sarcasm? because if I dont than im the only person who thinks studio 1337 is a dumb name.

shiney 04-08-2005 10:37 AM

I don't like '1337' because leet is retarded and backwards and can never be taken seriously. But I think calling it Studio Thirteen Thirty-Seven would be cool. Cause it kinda pokes fun.

hmm that could be a compramise. yes I think i can work with that.
though im till thinking about TFL Studios.
so i guess its Studio Thirteen Thirty-Seven .VS TFL Studios.
TFL=Too Fucking Late=The Way too Fucking Late Show=our flash(which is still in the process of being recorded and animated)

Studio Thirteen Thirty Seven actually sounds really awesome, methinks.

However...TFL Studios sounds...just boring. It leaves people wondering "What the fuck is TFL for? It sounds dumb!" Or "I don't get it." Somethin like that.

As for any other names... I can't make any suggestions based on I the fact I don't know anything about you or what type of stuff you'll be doing. PM me or IM me (Jelehz) if you feel the urge to; maybe I can help.

Also, TFL looks way too much like TLF, The Legendary Frog.
