Legend of the Five Rings: Test of Thunder, part 4
The rain reduced to a drizzle as they approached the courtyard infront of the temple. The monks of the temple came out of the temple and bowed to the ronin. They sensed the blessing of Osano-wo upon them. The weather disturbance had effected them greatly. The abbot of the monastery stood in front of the temple. Lightning struck the temple again and all around the plain.
"Greetings travellers, have you eaten today? I am Satoru, abbot of this temple." the abbot said. He was dressed in fine robes. His face was grizzled and he was rather large, built like a crab. Off to the side in the garden a man in a simple green Kimono was looking at flowers. He was a rather muscular man, his head shaved with a dragon tattoed on to the top of his head and down the back of his neck disappearing into his kimono. He wore the daisho of a samurai. "I see you and I were headed in the same direction." The man said in a familiar voice. He never looked up from his examination of the herbs in the garden. The rain started to pour from the sky. The Dragon Samurai grabbed the jingasa from his back and tied it to his head. |
Benitora put down the stone of jade and rubebd his back.
"Damn, but that was heavy." |
"We can see you carry the favor of Lord Osano-wo. Tell us the purpose of your mission so that we may aid you."
|
Samoht stood straight, took his right fist, and pounded twice on the left side of his chest.
"Osano-wo has sent us on a mission of cleansing. One of his temples has become tainted, and it is, in a way, hurting the Thunder Lord. He wishes for us to find the temple which has been commiting wrongs, and to...cleanse it." |
"BLASPHEMY!" The abbot said. He pulled out two Jo sticks hidden in his robes. "I will not stand such slander spoken by filthy ronin in Osano-wo's most holy house. Face me each of you in one on one combat if you are truely men of honor, or run and hide from my fury like the scum you are." The abbot took up a fighting stance brandishing the jo sticks.
Togashi Zenko felt the call of battle and charged fists bared at the monk. The monk side stepped the attack and brought the jo stick hard against zenko's neck shattering his spine. the ise zumi fell down limply ooc: Who wants to go next. Ihmn quit so I'm tying up a loise end. |
Samoht watched as a fellow ronin fell in a limp way that only the dead can fall. Samoht's face twisted in anger, then went back to a neutral look. He pulled his bo staff from his gunna, gave it a few spins in the air, and entered an offensive stance.
"You wanted a fight, laddy? Well, you got one." |
Tsubasa's yari was out, already knowing that this would be the outcome. Seeing how quickly the first man was dispatched, Tsubasa didn't even want to think about allowing Samoht to take on the abbot in a fair fight, and was ready to join in, but halted. These two were men, and and if there was anything Tsubasa knew about men, it was that the limits of their stubborness were simply nonexistent. She kept her spear close, but stayed out of the fight that was about to begin.
"Osano-wo, if we are truely to help you, give him a sign," she murmured as she watched the abbot. |
ooc: also there are 100 warrior monks keeping out as long as you stick to 1 on 1 so who is requesting the initiative roll.
|
Samoht did a quick foot placement with his feet, made a large twirl with his bo staff, and leapt forward.
"You asked for this!" Samoht held strongly to his staff, and swung it forward. (Basic attack) |
ooc: you and he tied for initiative and hit each other so I'll write his half you write yours. you only got minor damage.
Satoru moved inside and jammed the second knuckle of his index finger into a pressure point on Samoht's forehead. Samoht saw a blinding light then everything went black as he felt tremendous pain in his forehead. (you're blind for the next 5 rounds) |
