Poor guy. Got the link to my site deleted... Got flamed... Got the thread locked.

I don't even know the poor kid... claims hes a former classmates brother...

Are the PA forumites generally this mean?

Anyway. I don't blame em' for closing it. It did look like a link-and-run. But meh... I didn't want Gabe fanboys stinking up my inbox telling me how lame I am anyway... :(

Seriously though. I thought this was kinda funny. I'm all 'ohhh! I wonder where all these extra hits are coming from!' and then *sadface* "oh..."

They have a habit of being totally anal for little to no reason, I find. I stray from them. Hell this forum is a little to anal for me, but Clevinger's a cool guy, so his taste in mods and such are better. Don't worry, we don't hate ya.

Bigger forums tend to role that way I think. MegaTokyo Forums was like that when I left.

NPF is so well run its SCARY... No one insigates any riots... hardly anyone is a jerk...

'tis, verily, I say, the soul Internet forum I doth visit, having yon moderators behaving themselves worse than the exceptionally well-mannered youth dubbed 'users'. In paticular this 'shiney' fellow - quite the ruffian, I do say.

That whole "ARG! Sprites suck! I'm going to hate this comic without even reading it first because I am better than you" kind of attitude really pisses me off sometimes. You are better of without that clientele reading your comic. As much as I love PA, their fan-boys are some of the worst.

I wouldn't say it's how larger forums are, I'd say it's how comic forums are in general - or at least in regards to how the comic itself is.

PA is a sarcastic comic with sarcastic authors who publicly state that they fear their own forums. So the members there are used to being assholes and will continue to be assholes.

MegaTokyo members are probably used to being attacked as complete whiny losers such as the comic itself focuses around one, and as such I imagine they band together and are caustic to 'outsiders' or whatewver. I don't honestly know, it's a snap judgement based off your inclusion of that forum.

This place by contrast has a rather lighthearted author and a decently funny comic that doesn't rely on one sole element to continue it (i.e. sarcasm/belittlement or uh..that..megatokyo depression...thing...) and well, the mods here care.

Yes, care. That is publicly stated so that when we rain fire and brimstone upon your miserable itnernet lives you can't blame us. WAHAHAHA!

Hm. Interesting observation. ...Makes me wonder what the heck kind of forum my site would produce... O.o-?

yeah, i had an interesting run in on thier forums once before (essentialy working its way to people making fun of the fact that i had an "_" in my user name), i wasn't very impressed.

This never fails to make any sense whatsoever, and you hear it from an awful lot of folks, not just the PA gentlemen. They're your forums. If you don't like how your more talkative fanboys are behaving there, do something about it -- get better mods, create a set of clear and strictly enforced rules, restrict account creation, and if you have to, get rid of the damn thing altogether. The worst that can happen is the kind of posters you'd want to be rid of anyway maybe going off and forming their own little hive of scum and triple-posting that has only the most tangential relationship to you and your comic.

Other webcomic artists have told us how much they wish their own forums were as well-run and nice to visit as ours are, and it does take a lot of work, but it's worth it. It's really sad that super-nice guys like Tycho and Gabe have catty little douchebags like the posters in that thread representing their fans -- and people will judge you by the kind of people who're fans of your work and how they treat other people, whether that's fair or not.

I'm always really proud of you guys when a new poster stumbles in, making intro posts in General or Off-Topic and not knowing thing one about how we do things, and a half-dozen or more of you reply with friendly greetings, links to the rules, and helpful advice for getting comfortable here. We are strict by a lot of folks' standards, but you'll never convince me it's not worth it when it seems to make for such a relatively nice place to post.

Anyway, stump-preaching short, I'm sorry those guys were such dicks, Nique. Hope you won't let it bother you any.

I think that this right here says how much anyone should care what the majority of people on that forum say
