Fire Emblem GCN
 

Hey, has anyone seen the trailer at the Japanese website for the new FE? What's with the colored weapons thing and what about this new skills system? Any news on that? :fighter:

I've seen the trailer, but not sure myself on what all those things are. However I am very excited about this game and will probably pick it up on launch. GCN doesn't get too many RPG's but it definitely does get some good ones.

Yeah, Nintendo doesn't make a lot of RPGs, but when they do, they're awesome and kick PS2's and XBox's unshiny, breakable butt. I'm not critisizing FEGCN, I just wish we had more info. When does it come out anyway? :fighter:

In Japan: Around June. About the same time we get Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, for the GBA.

In America: Early to Mid November.

Ive heard that the USA might not get fire emblem for the GCN..........

I can't wait for Fire Emblem GCN. I just hope they don't overdo the 3-D. I'm used to 2-D Fire Emblem and I like it. Not to say it couldn't be really awesome with the 3-D, but I just hope they do it the right way. Screenshots don't look too bad.

yeah. after i heard that the possible idea that the new dragon quest may come out on gamecube got canned. i want to play a classic franchise like fire emblam. i want it to come out in america

I agree with you AvatarShroud. 3-D and tactical RPGs don't really mix well. FFT graphics is, I believe, the comfortable limit on graphical power.

The one thing I wish the would put in the FE series: TOWNS!

The FE games have always been too uninvolved, IMO.

Still awesome games though.

They have 'em in The Sacred Stones. You can visit old places to get a little extra experience and visit some shops. Needless to say, TSS is the easiest game in the series.

...Oh, and there's MONSTERS in it. Glee!

But I think that the GCN one will work out fine. From what I've heard, 3-D will be most likely used for the following:

-Terrain Height (Like in FFTA), so that the snowy mountains aren't the same altitude as the grassy plains.
-Effect. You know, as in good graphics. Can you imagine an Elfire or Bolting exploding in three dimensions? And thing of how FREAKING SWEET Ereshkigal would look in full 3-D (Yes, I know Ereshkigal won't be in that game. But it would be cool)!

And other stuff along those lines. ...Oh, and Camera Rotation too. Gotta have that.
