God shall soon mite us for this my friends. Look at this poll, and tremble.

No 684 (39.4%) <---the winner
Yes 506 (29.1%)
It should be banned in certain situations, but not others. 340 (19.6%)

Wait, where'd you get this information? And why is it in animation?

Overcast 04-20-2005 08:45 PM

Right here my friend

As for placement well I had a problem putting it in either off topic or animation I chose here because I felt it would effect you guys more. If I am wrong please for the sake of everything put it in its correct place.

Oh Anime, I should have known. Of course anime fans would vote for that, i've never seen a (edit: children centered girl anime) that didn't try to show little girls in skimpy outfits. Or 'magically' changing outfits which show their barely blurred bodies.

Digimon 3 was the worst examples I've seen, with those merger digivolves between tamer and digimon. I was wondering, what are they going to do with Rika. When I found out I was shocked. And I wondered who the idiot was that gave the seal of approval for that series.

Wonder how many parent-children conversations explained that one.

Trigun. Ruroni Kenshin. Twelve Kingdoms. I win. So nyea ^^

Just because it's supposed to depict minors doesn't make it any worse. People watch movies with violence - should we ban those, too?

Link, were it any other context, I'd say, "Are you out of you're mind!? You're comparing movie violence to child pornography?!" However, it's just drawings. I think that those who make any depiction of a child in sexual acts are deranged and should be *mumbles in a vain attempt to avoid moddy wrath*, but as long as they're defecating on someone else's intelectual property by creating pornography from it, then they have less time to lure little boys and girls into their basements, thus they aren't directly hurting anyone.

But really, doesn't one look at any pornographic depiction of a minor in a similar mind set? It's just feeding the appetites of predators. That's a bad thing to do. Please never compare general violence and child exploitation again. It hurts my feelings.

EDIT: and to show that I feel no malice whatsoevertowards Link, I'll back up the first part of his post by adding Super Milk Chan and Wolf's Rain to that list. No lolitas there. Milk Chan Henati! Noooooo!

Fullmetal Alchimest, Sakura Wars, Eva, Lost Universe, GTO, Hajime no Ippo, Trigun, Princess Tutu, Magic Knight Rayearth, Angelic Layer, X, Naruto, Turn A Gundam, Detective Conan, Sonic X, GateKeepers, Green Green, Vision of Escaflowne, Flame of Recca....

Wow. Obviously you haven't seen much Anime.

And yes, probably a lot of the people that go to that site where they had the voting thing was probably Americans who watch a lot of Hentai and Anime both. If that site has any Hentai material, such as reviews of Hentai or whatnot, then that just proves it and so they will probably not want to have any kind of that stuff outlawed, even if they personally don't partake in it.

You forgot Cowboy Bebop.

Sure, a good portion of what Faye's wearing is rather skimpy... but she's FAR from a lolita.

Kiddie porn is kiddie porn IMHO, but regardless of how horrifying polls are, of what edicts are passed to support/ban it, it'll exist as long as some sick f**k owns a camera. Or a photoshop utility for that matter.

If I'm not mistaken, there are laws against child pornography in order to protect the children. If the children in question are completely fictional, I don't think there's any reason to outlaw it, no matter how disgusting it is. Should it be banned? Based strictly on principle, I'd say hell yeah, it should be banned. However, I suppose this is one of those "victimless crimes" that offends some people's sensibilities and nothing more.

Why is damning someone to eternal pain and humiliation better than a word with sexual connotation?
