"I got more arrows."
"Pithy, but precise." Another arrow shot out of the darkness and shattered against Longicolnis' polished metal body.
"Now then - could you kill them a little faster?" |
"It's hard to hit what you can't see." He knocked another arrow and fired but only heard it clatter on stone. "The arrow knows the way." He fired another arrow. This one his some one. They grunted.
"It doesn't seem to hard, your not missing much..."
"It's cause I'm very good, and they aren't hiding. Trust me it's harder to hit a wolf running at a full sprint, yet I can do that quite well." Drae'san dodged an incoming arrow. "Do you think you can take the pendulem path? I don't know how many of them are ahead of us."
Khakoi stepped back a few steps and glanced down the other path, "I'm pretty sure I can handle this path, we just have to either time it right, or make an all-out dash, like I did before."
"I think I'll take my chancess with the pendulums too..."
"But if the assassins went that way, wouldn't it be the right way?"
"It might be a dead end... And it may not even be the assassins..."
Meran stood to spare a peak. Three arrows glanced off his armour. He ducked back down. "There's about five up there."
"Just go. I'll pull up the rear."
ooc: so is this dead?
OOC: Well, considering that it is NYE and everyone is looking for drunken orgies and wild partying, I doubt this place will get much attention for a while...
(OOC: So, what did you guys do with Tama? He was poisoned, then SS took him, and he seemed to dissappear.)
OOC: I think we've just been carrying him along with us. *shrugs* Not sure what happened to him while we were getting through the traps... I would assume we dragged him through after Khakoi set off all of the traps, or maybe we left him back with the horse... *shrugs* I actually don't know. ^^; )
(OOC: Nice. My character is rotting away from poison. That's a great thing to see when coming back from vacation.
OOC: well, maybe he's all better, but he's been asleep. The potion was supposed to have worked for curing you of your poison. He could wake up and run to catch up with everyone and yell at us for leaving him behind.
(OOC: Alrighty then, time for a wake-up call!)
Tama was mumbling in his sleep. "Why yes, mam. I would love more Sake. It's good stuff. And it's so nice of all you girls to help me. Ahh, I love this place." Ryu-kashin glowed yellow, and a jolt was sent through Tama's body. "Holy shit! Where's the fire!" Tama sprung up from where he had been laying. His side was sore, and he had many bruises on his body. He looked around. Wherever he was, it was not where he had fallen asleep. All the trees were still on the ground. "Let's see. Where is everybody?" Tama heard some noises in the distance. He grabbed his sword. "Well, let's go find them." Tama walked onward. After a while, he finally caught up with some of the group. "Hey guys. How kind of you to just leave me alone back there." |
Khakoi glanced back at whoever was talking. It was Tama, and he was standing in the middle of the intersection of the corridors. She was busy observing the pendulum trap, trying to decide on the best time to risk running through.
"Nice of you to finally wake up and join us Tama, now you might want to come over here. Standing where you are right now would be unwise." As if on cue, one of the 'assassin's arrows out of the center passageway, it flew past Tama, barely missing him. "This place is full of traps, and if your not careful, you are as good as dead..." Khakoi smiled slightly to herself, "Unless you are as insanely lucky as I am...." |
Tama smiled.
"Luck is my middle name. One of many, actually. My full name is Tama Luck Courage Bravery Intelligence Strength Wise Nimble Craka, to be precise." Another arrow wizzed by his head. He decided to move closer to the others. "So, what exactly are we doin' right here?" |
Khakoi sighed as she turned away from the pendulum trap. She pointed at the hallway where Tama had just come from.
"We just came from that hallway. It was full of arrow traps... but..." She smiled again, "I guess we don't need to worry about those anymore..." Then she pointed to the center hallway, where Drae'san was shooting arrows at the mysterious attackers, "We don't really know what's down there, but we're heading down this" She pointed to the hallway with the pendulum trap, "...hallway first." Having explained the current, situation, she inspected the pendulum again. "Just running through here could end up with more than bruises or an arrow sticking out of your arm..." She wasn't sure how old the blades on the pendulums were, but they still looked rather sharp. |
Tama swung his arms around to losen his joints.
"Well, there's only one way to get through something like that. Run like hell, and watch your ass." Before anyone could stop him, Tama proceeded to run through the hall. The pendelum blades swung at him. A few missed him, but one got awfully close. "Shit! Ryu-kashin, ice 'em!" The sword glowed a dull white, and the bladed pendulem began to freeze over with ice. When it got close enough, Tama did a spin kick, sending shards of frozen metal flyind down the hall. "Frozen metal is breakable metal. God, I love this sword!" |
Hiro laughed as he saw Tama stuck in the middle of the trap. Then he stepped forward to the first pendulum. It came swining at him, but before it reached him, Shifter grew off of his arm, and covered the gaint blade. Slowly it began to stop, up until where it completely stopped. Then Shifter began to shake it, until cracking and snapping was heard, indicating that the trap was broken. Then Shifter removed itself from the pendulum, and went back on to Hiro. After that, he went to the next pendulum, then the next one, and kept going.
(OOC: I'm not stuck. I just frickin' shattered a pendelum blade! How is that "stuck"?)
Khakoi watched the others take care of the pendulum traps. <Well, I guess what they're doing works too.> She shrugged, then followed after Hiro, letting him break the pendulums.
Tama continued his pattern of freezing a pendelum blade, and then shattering it. Thanks to Tama and Hiro, there were now nothing but broken sticks hanging from the cieling. At the end of the hallway, there was a large circular room.
"I wonder if there's a trap in here, too?" (OOC: Do you guys have a set plan on the traps, or are you making them up as you go along?) |
OOC: Jad is making them up... And this must be crappy metal...
Drae'san followed the others. "That's one way to do it."
The circular room was an intersection. Three halls were connected to it, other than the one they came out of it. "This place is a labyrinth." |
