Perditions Tale, Chapter 12: "Road to Alba."
The group had been riding straight through the woods to Alba for a few days now. At the moment, the group was eating some rations and letting their horses rest for a while.
Cesia cleared her throat, "Well, if I remember my lessons correctly, by the way we are heading to Alba, there is a river seperating us from Alba. There's a bridge, but there is bound to be guards of some sort. We might be able to sneak past security on the bridge... but there's always the risk that Cid's lies have reached Alba and they are looking for us in particular. Or there's the risk that Cid's guards will be there instead of Alban guards..." She took a breath, then continued, "Or we could try and make it across the river. I'm not sure if the horses would make it, or all of the weapons and armor that Tamakatari had made. But that would be the easiest way to get there undetected." |
OOC: Why would the Alba guards stop us?
|
"There's a ford about ten miles from the bridge. It's a better way to go."
|
"I vote we set up camp right here and see if things havent worked themselves out by tommorow. If we absolutly must make a decision, a good nights rest should solve everything." Jude offered.
(OOC: ^ Assumin its near nightfall) |
OOC: Probably afraid of infiltraiters that might try to sabatoge the army before Cid arrives I would assume...
Vace leaned back against a tree, eating his rations, and said, "Well, if we could convince the guards that we're friends that would be easiest because then we could use the road sooner and keep most of our gear. Your the rightful princes so I would think they would recognize you and help us, but if the don't they still might recognize Lynx here, because how many intelligent cat-men taht were once cats can there be running around that have helped them in the past? The other option is I've helped the Albans out a few times, and depending on the guards they might recognize me, but that is the least likely. Either way it will be a moot point if they are Cid's guards, and in that case we can just fight our way through." |
Cesia thought for a bit, "I'm for the bridge, or the ford that Gin was talking about. It depends on which side of the bridge the ford is on, how far away it is from us." She sat back, her arms supporting her.
(OOC: keep in mind that we aren't heading directly for the bridge. the group is probably going to have to find the river first, then follow along the river to the bridge.) |
"How bout we keep going till we find the river, make camp, then decide?"
|
Dawn had been off by herself near the horses for a few minutes, but finally joining the others. She took a seat beside Jude. "If we're going to wait until the river to camp then we should probably get going again. Otherwise let's finish setting up here.."
[OOC] Well, I'm gone for the next couple of days now... If ya'll continue, feel free to just have Dawn tag along. Anyways, I must go... so much to do and very little time to do it in. *runs around and hugs everyone, giving them a candy cane* Ya'll have a Merry Christmas (or whatever you celebrate ^^) and I'll see ya'll in a couple of days! |
"Let's make it to the river before we camp, we can have some water for the horses there." Cesia commented., then the group went ahead for an hour or so until they found the river. Keeping close to the trees, the group set up camp and a small campfire. The horses were relieved to have some cool water and getting to rest. Cesia sat by the fire and stared into the flames, "This journey has sure turned out a lot different than I had first expected..." She mused.
(OOC: Like most everyone else. I won't be around very much during christmas time. ^_^ I hope all of you have a nice Christmas (or whatever you celebrate. ^_^ ) |
Thid sat himself down next to the fire with his saddlebag and pulled out a black arrow and the small knife. He then began to carve. I want to make sure there's no margin of error in this.
