I blame society. But then again, I blame society for everything. Dang society. Society and moogles...

Really, though, it's more likely that the armoire HIT his heart but did not actually PIERCE it. Besides, an armoire isn't a stake, so he had nothing to worry about.

The stakes just folk legend, in the olden days it was the most convient thing to plunge into the heart. I suppose if it were a branch of some magic or holy tree (i.e. mana tree) then we'd see some more effectiveness. And vampires were also susceptible to water, fire, and sunlight. Water made their skin rot, fire could reduce them to lifeless ashes, and uv rays gave them more than cancer. As for the hole seperated heart thing, the heart dies after awhile if it has no blood.

Villbert was just suffered having his organs crushed, not stabbed.

Yep. He's right. i won't even ask why the sunlight doesn't hurt him though.

Wow, using the exact same link twice in a thread.

Specifically said "pierced."

Nikose Tyris 05-05-2005 08:36 PM

still, removing the stake removes the vamp to life. so says the Monster Manual. so says All legends I know.

also, Vampires tend to be allergic to wood. just thought I'd mention that.

PyrosNine 05-05-2005 10:12 PM

But most monster manuals also say that a stake through the heart will completely and utterly destroy the vampire. So if it can't kill a vampire, how do you defeat it? Enlist the aid of a talking sunflower and attack with a Gun Del Sol?

All the questions in this thread can be answered with a firm, loud "It's funnier that way."

Quirriff` 05-06-2005 03:39 AM

or "A wizard did it"

Cybren 05-06-2005 05:31 PM

Or perhaps that vampires are fictional and it's an irrelevent detail

Meister 05-06-2005 05:38 PM

Advantage: Cybren. And since the question has been sufficiently answered, even with the aid of *gasp* hyperlinks to the *gasp* internet, it's closey closey time.

By the way, it's a stake through the heart and the head cut off what does 'em in for sure. Ever notice how with those methods it hardly matters if it's really a vampire you're killing?
