May be a stupid question but...
How did Vilbert survive? They put like 30 holes in him (including one through the heart) with the armour of invinsiblility.
|
That's like asking "How come Fighter keeps on coming back? He's been hit with daggers in the head for crying out loud."
Best way to answer that is to not think about it. Just accept and move on. |
yeah it didn't really bother me until today, your right nevermind
|
He's a vampire. As long as they didn't get his heart, he'll regenerate. Simple geekdom knowledge.
|
Yeah. They merely pierced his Gothicular Membrane. That sucks for us. For we have to listen to his dreadful poetry.
|
Uh they did get his heart
|
No, they just got the Gothicular membrane, like was said before. It made him shut up, so they figured they either got that or his heart. Looky here
Also- its spelled armoir. Pronounced Arm-wa. |
Even if they got his heart, it's a common theme in vampire lore that if the stake is removed from the heart then the vampire will be free to regenerate and bring doom/bad poetry to the world once again.
|
Evil never dies...
That's from the back of the Castlevania: Circle of the Moon box (a bit above the part where it says "and eliminate evil once and for all.") And Garland also said it after coming back, I think. |
Heh. Me right, I score!
|
I blame society. But then again, I blame society for everything. Dang society. Society and moogles...
Really, though, it's more likely that the armoire HIT his heart but did not actually PIERCE it. Besides, an armoire isn't a stake, so he had nothing to worry about. |
The stakes just folk legend, in the olden days it was the most convient thing to plunge into the heart. I suppose if it were a branch of some magic or holy tree (i.e. mana tree) then we'd see some more effectiveness. And vampires were also susceptible to water, fire, and sunlight. Water made their skin rot, fire could reduce them to lifeless ashes, and uv rays gave them more than cancer. As for the hole seperated heart thing, the heart dies after awhile if it has no blood.
Villbert was just suffered having his organs crushed, not stabbed. |

Specifically said "pierced." |
still, removing the stake removes the vamp to life. so says the Monster Manual. so says All legends I know.
also, Vampires tend to be allergic to wood. just thought I'd mention that. |
But most monster manuals also say that a stake through the heart will completely and utterly destroy the vampire. So if it can't kill a vampire, how do you defeat it? Enlist the aid of a talking sunflower and attack with a Gun Del Sol?

All the questions in this thread can be answered with a firm, loud "It's funnier that way."
|
or "A wizard did it"
|
Or perhaps that vampires are fictional and it's an irrelevent detail
|
Advantage: Cybren. And since the question has been sufficiently answered, even with the aid of *gasp* hyperlinks to the *gasp* internet, it's closey closey time.
By the way, it's a stake through the heart and the head cut off what does 'em in for sure. Ever notice how with those methods it hardly matters if it's really a vampire you're killing? |
