Have you guys been able to completely rule out the Graphics card as a source for this?

If it only locks on games and it's getting worst, maybe its busted or on it's way to be...?

I'm going longshot here and saying that your Graphics card has a cooling fan of it's own. yes? Can you make sure that it's working properly? Maybe that's the click you heard.

Also a good Cleaning on the Graphics card just might do the trick. Dust can do nasty things on certain components, even small amounts.
