I think he wants to go out of his way to prove that all of our ideas would spectacularly fail if the Light Warriors actually tried any of them. The one I remember in particular was people talking about how Chaos couldn't win because the timeline says he didn't (
which Red Mage brought up in-universe). His last line in that comic seemed directed at those people in particular.
