To add some extra zip to your Nerf weaponry, take the thing apart using disassembly instructions that you can find anywhere. Then lubricate the inside of the tube that houses the plunger that you pull back to fire. I used to use WD40, but that loses it's effects after a while. Your best bet is a coating of Vaseline. It gives your shots a noticeable accuracy and speed boost.
Also, if you have the money or technical knowhow, you can replace the spring itself with a higher tensioned spring of the same dimensions. Just make sure you don't go overboard. A spring that's too strong can snap the gun in two.
