Oh come on. He was supposed to pick it up. I can't have Impact give it to him IC. At least I can't think of a situation that allows it. He was supposed to get it in conjunction with the duel. Can't we just assume that Pierce tried to give it back after the duel and Impact was all like "keep it, I'll get my own"?
