I've been trying a variety of fancy-pants gourmet cheeses lately, and I've discovered some absolutely delightful things. Gouda with apple slices, for instance, is now one of my favorite foods ever, and Brie on sourdough toast is great.
I also really, really like eggplant slices fried in olive oil with salt, pepper and garlic powder; and asparagus cooked just right (too many people boil it until it's floppy, which is a mistake--it needs to be firm and tender-crisp) is a treat.
