Can't seem to find the older thread. Anyway after Sonic 4 Episode 1 was shunned by the fan base a few of us thought Episode 2 was scraped. But it seems it's alive and well.

What's known is that Sega/Sonic Team is rather pissed that they had to scrap the old engine because the fans bitched too much about Ep1.

So yeah Episode 2 will be mostly very different from 1 (unlike what they might have originally planned) in that it has a new engine now. May not link up to the old game so it's its own thing for now. Probably won't have any remake levels. And might be better the the previous game. Keep in mind that as of Late Sega's been getting better with Sonic so after 2 successfully decent projects, this one's a guaranteed decent game.

Any hopes/speculations?
