The good: For what it is it's executed fairly decently. Some of the visual elements work surprisingly well.
The bad: Very basic idea with little to sell it other than 8-Bit. Using the same thing to move around as I use to fire fireballs is a very bad idea. No left-right key movement? Background could use work.
That said, it'd be interesting to see a more fleshed out 8-Bit fan game. A fanfic of a fanfic, basically. You've at least gone to the effort to learn some basics, so there's definitely the possibility of you getting better over time, and I advise you to keep it up.
