I totally see where you're coming from there, regarding being in contact with Snake. But! We don't know what the messages between you and Snake that got you into this game were, and we don't know when they were sent. There was a single day that passed between your joining the game and Snake beginning the next day. It's imaginable that you neglected to check your PM box in the time between the two posts regarding "Cowboys & Aliens" that you made during that day. It's not
probable but it is certainly
possible. I don't think it's what happened, given that you were the first one to post on the following day, but I think that's where Moogs is coming from.
But Snake is totally one for being by-the-book follow-all-regulations no-exceptions-ever, so this little bit-
