He can't know for sure there's no other Raptor that looks like Yoshi but I think we can be pretty sure there's only one Raptor with those stripes and that color which would kill the fuck out of other Raptors..

It's like if you were in a dark alley one day and there's a bunch of people about to stab you and then take your stuff, and suddenly a Dog that looks exactly like your dog shows up and bites their faces off.
Yeah, it might be a different dog but there's the association of that particular breed and style to your dog. And you can't think of any reason another dog would just show up to help you.
