As I play more, I gotta say, I fucking love that it's grind free. Easy game, but it just works on a basic level. The lack of grind is because being able to upgrade your robot is based pretty much entirely on getting the funds through sidequests and opening up the slots for it by exploring every little area in the game. Leveling from combat just increases your max health, and it's not really built so that you *can* grind for levels reasonably.
It's a small thing, all in all, but I dig it.
EDIT: Like I think I've said but am too lazy to check, this game is just "Pretty good!" But I feel like it's that in a way that's different from most ways that modern games are good, so it has a nostalgic charm to it that carries the experience well. I guess I mostly want to explain why it sounds like I'm overselling a game I just think is "Pretty good!"
EDIT2: Game just introduced a sky fishing minigame that's pretty simple and straightforward, but I like how I never feel like I'm doing one thing for too long.
