I'd agree about the Magus thing, except so far this game has seemed to go out of its way to emasculate him.

As for Magus' flashbacks, yeah, they were pretty pointless. When you're showing off information the player already knows, it's usually a good idea to try to present it in interesting ways. As it stands, out of Magus' entire flashback schpiel, there was exactly one interesting piece.

Betcha can't guess which.
